Ok, after my first time out Clubbing -EVER- I learned a few things.

1.) Never arrive at opening. EVER
2.) If you can help it, don't go alone.
3.) Bring Cash
4.) Know how to Dance
5.) Don't mess with people's beer.
6.) It's probably a lot more fun when you can drink.
7.) Be sure to know if it's Lesbian night or not.

So here is what happened....

I arrived at the club at 9:00 when it opened... Hell no.. not doing THAT again. I just left and hung out at my job around the corner for a bit, but it was still boring when I got back. There was no one there. I started talking to some guy who swore he was the richest thing on this side of the universe... he was kind of cute... but kind of... well... snobbish. He was actively trying not to sound arrogant, and he listened to what I had to say as well, so I enjoyed it thoroughly. When he found out it was Lesbian night, he bailed. By then people were dancing... and I realized I can't dance. Or at least I can't dance with guys. Girls are easy, but guys are hard. Especially tiny Hispanic guys who move so fast and fluidly that I can't keep up with. So I Embarassed myself with him. Another guy I tried to dance with ended up losing his beer to me... I knocked it out of his hand. And A third guy pulled the 'I'll be right back' thing on me... Yeah Right, As if...

I noticed alot of the folk who were underage left earlier... I was one of the few who stayed until closing. I guess the drinking makes you want to stay out later? I dunno. All I had was a couple of Ginger Ale's at three dollars a pop. THREE DOLLARS. But I couldn't complain.

I met a guy and exchanged phone numbers with him, but I don't know what to do... I have very much difficult talking to people... even appproaching people I don't know. I wanted to make new friends, but DAMN. It's hard.

There were probably more details but theyr'e no fun. That is the story of my first experience at a night club. Tease away...

Oh... and how often do you guys go out on the town?

The first night I went out I went before they opened at like 8pm, sat there with my BF (bartender), another bartender, and 3 lesbians until like 10pm then people started coming in and it got a lil more people. That night was a Karaoke night. I left around midnight because I got bored. The next night I went at 10pm and it was the night of a Drag Show. The place was packed and I was like fresh meat. I got molested non stop and hit on I dunno how many times. They all wanted me to dance but I had to get it through to them that I have horrible white boy syndrom and cannot dance. Ever since then I still get approached A LOT (which I hate) but I enjoy going out being around people like myself. I usually go out about 5 days a week. (!)

My parents still think I'm straight and I go to straight clubs/bars. :badgrin:

P.S. NEVER GO ALONE!
 
I go out every now and then. I think it comes to a bit over once a month. It's very expensive and I actually like my Sundays. ;)

When I go out, I never go clubbing. Bleurgh. Tried it, hated it. I'm much more of a pub person - especially Irish pubs. They have the best beer!

So on your first night at a club, you learned 7 things. That's good. It's called progress. Just go out again (and yes, do take a friend or two) and things'll get better. Even the dancing. I promise. ..|

1.) Did that once, it was...quiet
2.) Noooo, always travel in packs, or at least the buddy system. You are less likely to get accosted/molested/violated when you are in groups. The exception would be if you're hunting for prey to take home that night.
3.) plastic works too (credit cards, not Gretchen Weiners)
4.) so you think you can dance (dance dance dance dance)
5.) Never touch a stranger's drink...especially if that drink belongs to a lesbian. Dont touch her food either....or her seat....in fact, stay away from her.
6.) Actually, i've had fun in both situations. However, being sober allows me to be the blackmail...*ehem cough cough cough*...err, information broker for the drunks. "i did what?!?!"
7.) yes, always check if it's lesbanian night. nothing against them, but i'd like to think that you'd prefer to be around cock.

My friends tend to go out 3-4 times a week...i cap at 2 or 3(on rare occasions). i value my sleep/rest time more than they do, LOL. But when the call to booty-shaking happens, i have to answer :gogirl: (!) :gogirl:

I know where you were last night! Chaos always has lesbian night although I think there are usually as many guys as there are women! You should have gotten a kiss from the bartender....tell him I sent you....

Actually don't tell him because he has wanted me to take him out for some time now and gets upset when I have gone out with someone else!

I laugh because when I first moved to Washington I went to Chaos at 9 p.m. as well...actually it might have been 8:30. I wanted to make sure I could scope the place out! Well the guy (tranny) that usually is at the door during dinner hour was very nice and explained things don't usually get going until at least 10:30 (or 11 or 12). It was a great time to get to know him and the other staff because I was the only one there!

Let's see what I have learned (and will be testing it out tonight with friends at several clubs): Chaos: the night may start about 10:30. The two bouncers get there just before that time and both are very great guys. One is a real hunk and a good friend! The drag shows on Friday and Saturday are supposed to start at 11 but it usually is 11:30 or 12:00 at the earliest before they go on. I think they go on too long...just my thought.

Apex: tonight is college night; you'll probably like it. Again, it starts at 10:30 or 11:00. You get in free with a college ID; don't get caught drinking because they bounce you out!

Cobalt: They don't let you in if you are underrage and they card pretty aggressively. Things do start a little earlier: maybe 10 p.m. downstairs and later upstairs.

Halo: The after work pub. It has always been no smoking but can be a little clicky.

I agree that it is much easier to go to any of the clubs with friends or someone you know; it is surprising how much easier it is to meet other people and for others to approach you. I don't know why...it just does. My friends want to check the Diner tonight...I'll tell you what it is like after we celebrate his birthday! Then it will be Apex and maybe Cobalt for stripper night....

And yes... Lesbians are scary.
 
Is Apex lesbian night on Wednesday now? I've been to Chaos quite often......

And it does suck that only Apex lets you in....well Nation used to but they've closed it now and are tearing it down! Halo doesn't....I guess I better not tell them about a few people!
 
Oh no, This was Saturday night. Not last Night... I WISH Apex was open during the week... it's only Thursday through Saturday. Saturday night is Lesbian night. Or should I say 'Liquid Ladies' Night?

And I forgot Item number eight on my list.

8.) Take off work the next day.

I left the club at 3, and had to be at work at six. My supervisor opened the store at 4:30 so I just went in when she did and fell asleep at the counter.

Ooooh, i just remembered an incident regarding a lesbian. It was Pride weekend here in LA, and of course, my crew is already blasted (it was only 1pm) and one of them decides that he wants fries. he scopes out the table next to us where ghetto lesbians were dining. He just reaches out and grabs some fries...we were lucky to be alive at that point. she was PISSED LOL
 
I've haven't been to any of the gay clubs in dc. But I am planning to, maybe Apex. Thanks for the tips.
 
gay clubs and me don't mix....one night here in them and I wanna be str8....bunch of ypung guys with shirts off asses showing acting ike little girls.. and 99% of them would look better with a shirt on...then there is the glitter they put all over theirselves...not my cup of tea and they r so stupid with their lines...it is a slut party is what I call it but lubbock is a college town with texas tech here....sports bar for me with the mostly str8 crowd

I've never been to a club, straight or gay oriented, and don't believe I will....Not my kinda place...Maybe check it out once, but not sure if I'd become a "regular".
 
wow.. 1 night, and you learned all that, it took me months
i rarely go to 'clubbing'...i went a couple weeks ago, first time in ages, it was alright, not as fun as i remembered to be

Well I just got home from a club and had to be security and stop a BIG fight that started up more than once. #-o

I got hit lots:mad: :grrr:

Remember, in a bar fight you don't have to fight fair after you take a hit. That's why God allows us to break bottles and use pool cues and kick for the nuts...
