He's a FOOL! Why make any statement.

](*,) ](*,)

Hopefully, now he and his parter can return to a "normal way of life" and he can go on doing his job - reporting the news, not making the news.

I wonder why it was so important to so many people that he has to do what he did. After all, all it amounted to was an intrusion into his privacy and space and that of his partner's also.

It still shows how far we (including homsexuals) have to go in our respect for the rights and privileges and privacy of others.

Who do you suppose bares most of the responsibility for all of this happening?

commentary by the local village idiot who is truly fed up with this "outing of people" and then the claims that "he is one or ours.":grrr: :grrr:

Perhaps Tom Roberts said it best when he spoke regarding his coming out,
"When you hold something back, that's all everyone wants to know.''

Not only smart, but cute as a button (!)

All that gay men and lesbians want are equal rights....

That has nothing to do with haveing to declare publicly, your sexualy orintation.
Personally, I don't see this as a "step fooward".

My dear Croynan, I so completely agree with you. The only time that I am for outing a person is when he is causing gays to suffer while secretly engaging in gay behavior.

I further agree with your point about "he is now one of ours". I don't own any gay person. I don't own anyone. Moreoever, I don't like all gay people, just as I don't like all whites or straights or blacks or French or Americans or English or South African or whatever.

Finally, it is not even obvious that Mr. Roberts will be some extraordinary role model for gay people. A public figure who is gay is not automatically a role model. There is a horrendous silliness about it all.

This news really isn't that new. He has been "out" for a number of years. Don't know why it was made a big deal now.

What a relief! For a minute I thought it was going to be Larry King.

I found this shirtless pic of Thomas Roberts:

I don't agree it's a ho-hummer. There are so few out male celebrities in the US, every new one is important. Now if only we could get even one big movie star...

I agree one hundred percent, with anyone who says outing people is a lousy thing to do.

With all due respect, I dont consider this man a "friend'' in any sense of the word.

I dont think this neccesarily helps. People will just believe further that its some sort of learned behaviour (becaue of the abuse)

Not that I dont think he should have came out, but in this type of circumstance, its important to explain the journey and how everything came about (when you thought you might be gay, etc)

I thought this was common knowledge. In Atlanta he's been known to be openly gay for years.
