Cody Cummings

I have to say I feel for him. With all the hatred going on against him (not just here, the posts on this forum seem to reflect the general opinion about him) I can't help but pity him.
I saw a documentary some months ago; It was about three guys who had an obsession with certain pornographic actors/actresses and the show took them across the pond to meet with their idols. One of the guys was a huge fan of Cody and they filmed parts of their conversation. In it Cody said that he had a child who is apparently not too keen on seeing his/her father and that working in the porn industry really means giving up A LOT. It really made me feel like he was actually a rather sensitive man who didn't really know what he signed up for when he started (like more than half of all the adult movie stars, I reckon).
And yes, many will now come with the (valid) argument that you shouldn't be doing porn if you can't cope with the price that is to pay, but we all make mistakes. We all take a wrong turn at some point. And some of those wrong turns unfortunately end up leading us down a path from which there is no return. Sorry for all the sentimental nonsense, just felt a little prone to grey today.

As a porn star I was fairly fond of him - he looks very handsome - but ever since I saw that interview I just can't watch him without mixed feelings any more.

I can see where you would have sympathy but don't buy his load of bullshit. He was 27 when he started making porn and his daughter was 9. He had been working as a stripper for years in California (WeHo, San Deigo, etc). He was not some naive 18 year old from the midwest that was taken advantage of by predatory old gay men. He was coddled and protected by Next Door to the expense of the studios other performers because in his arrogance he believed he was better than them. Next Door paid for his Cybersocket award and his Fleshjack campaign. If it was so tough for him then why did he come back to Next Door after doing that interview? I think you are confusing sensitivity with narcisissm.

In fact, he would still be churning out the same shit and cashing checks today if he could find a studio that would still pay him for jerk off and servicing videos. He said he was ready to "work" but "under my terms" which means he wants to do the same old shit for a new paycheck.

So I was catching up on Cody Cummings earlier today, since last I heard, he had reconnected with NextDoorStudios and was performing for them again - but now it seems they parted ways again for a second time.

Just my 2 cents, but I personally believe what he's saying, and honestly, it makes the site owners as well as some of his so called fans sound like serious jerks imo. So what if he doesn't want to perform certain sexual acts - is this anything new? The producers and some "fans" have been trashing him for refusing to perform anal on a guy or with a guy. So what if he is bisexual and is only interested in certain forms of intimacy with another guy? Not even all 100% gay men are interested in anal. There are guys within the gay community as well who are exclusively tops or bottoms. Whatever happened to "no means no"? There are plenty of straight porn performers who have specific limitations as well as to what they will or will not do, in addition to "no" lists, of performers they don't want to work with. Not to mention there are straight guys who don't like doing down on women, and conversely straight women who hate giving blowjobs - we don't trash them for not being "100% heterosexual" or some traitor to the heterosexual community, do we?

I wouldn't be surprised in the least of the site owners were themselves posting all these negative comments about him, pretending to be customers/fans, as some twisted way to get him to do what they want. If not that, perhaps paying others to do this for them.

It just feels like there is some sort of ulterior motive or other issue which has been driving all the negative comments about him. Me being 100% gay myself, I really don't identify with the people writing these. I don't care how he is in real life, and if he doesn't want to perform some specific things it's his right to not do so. I do tend to like his solo work more though, as he always seems a bit... "not really there" when performing with partners. Maybe it's because of that lame gay porn habit of looking at the camera rather than the partner. This gimmick is one of the main reasons I don't enjoy gay porn that much. Straight porn stars don't do that camerawhoring and therefore seem much more "real" to me when they perform.

You’ve got to be kidding. Straight porn does that shit all the time, although I have viewed less straight porn, everytime I did, the girl always does look at the camera, it’s fucking annoying. Gay porn almost never does that, especially considering how much more I have viewed gay porn.
