Hey everyone, new here. Been checking things out for a while and lots of good stuff on here.

I was wondering if I could get some advice from everyone. Recently I have been going to this coffee shop daily and there is this really good looking guy who works there. After a week or so, he would remember my drink and get it all set up whenever I walked in the door. He is always really freindly, but never gets past "hey how's it going" kind of talk.

Anyway, about a week and a half ago, he started giving me free coffee drinks every other day-so far I have gotten 4. It happens usually when its not too busy in there.

Do you think this is a sign he is into me? Or, (what I am telling myself) is this just a ploy to get me coming back into the store and to continue hitting the tip jar?

Thanks for any advice.

Yeah I hear ya. The one thing I forgot to mention is: Nobody else there gives me the same treatment or free drinks-just him. And one day, someone else was ringing up my order and he said out lout-nah he's good and I got a free drink.

I would not make too much of it and enjoy the free drinks! I just hope he doesn't get fired for doing that.

There's no such thing as a free lunch! He wants you. When it's not too crowded you should, try to bring the conversation to more than - hi how are you. You could say something like I see you all the time, don't you ever get any time off. If he says, I'm done at 6, show up at 5 of 6 and see what happens when you talk then. The most you have to lose is a few free coffees - or some sleep if he gets out late :)

I've been on both sides of this one. Sometimes when you have mind-numbingly boing jobs in the service industry you really crave nice, polite, trouble-free customers to become regulars and you slip them free-bees to make sure they come back. So at least we know he has a good opinion of you. I used to do that in my service job (waitron/bartender) all the time. Not to rain on your parade but has he given ANY other sign that there's more on his part, or are you projecting?

On the other side, I once got so crushed out on a certain counter boy that I swear I gained 5 lbs going to the pastry shop where he worked. When I finally got up the nerve to hint that I thought he was cute, he politely told me he lived with his girlfriend. Never went back. Lost the 5 lbs though.

Hope this helps.
