Coin - replaces multiple credit cards.

If you lose the coin, or it is stolen, will you feel compelled to notify all the companies whose cards are on the coin? I suppose they will be accessed by passwords, but even so....

This seems a knock off of the somewhat failed "store your accounts in your smart phone and wave it at the register" payment option. And like that one this system is flawed, a thief needs only steal this one item to have access to all your accounts. At least he/she wouldn't have access to all info on your phone as well, but birth-date and SSN could be gotten easily enough with credit card info. Then the thief has your identity as well. At least with individual cards you only have to be concerned about which ones were taken and not the whole bunch.

True Willie but the Coin also has a blue tooth reminder that will alert your phone if you leave it's proximity. That same alarm could easily be turned into a security shutdown. Heck you could even make it self erasing if not linked up in ten minutes or thirty...

To be sure if it actually worked I would use it. I currently carry around 12 cards. I would love to reduce that to five. (Since Coin only holds eight) Plus I would use only store specific cards on the device.

Ah, the old store charge cards. I tend to carry anywhere between three to five actual credit cards and a couple gas charge cards. Normally I prefer to just carry cash, but my partner tends to get nervous so I've acquiesced and donned the cards.

Yeah I love the store cards. The stores have been so desperate for sales these last few years they will literally give shit away if your linked up with them. The other four are a debit and regular Visa, MC, and AE..... I refuse to use cash as much as possible. Getting my money back from a shitty business is really easy when I can just have the CC company tell them to fuck off. On the other hand having cards is irresponsible for most because they don't pay them off monthly. Still this idea would be awesome with correct protections. Hell I could carry a money clip with the five cards and three ID's.
