College Football 2009

Wow. Bama got LUCKY! Yes, they played well overall, but if not for that last fumble I really believe Texas would have pulled it out. All that WITHOUT Colt!

Can you imagine if they didn't knock him out? We'd have been watching a very different game. Gilbert did a fine job for a true Freshmen, but Colt would likely not have handed Bama 14 pts like he did (2nd qtr interception + 4th qtr fumble).

I expected Bama to blow the Longhorns out of the water once they destroyed poor Colt, but UT held its own. I'm impressed, bu it was kinda hilarious how they just gave up after the fumble and let Bama score 13 unanswered points.

In a way I also feel bad for Bama. Yeah they played hard and got their 8th national title (yes 8th, not 13th as they try to make you believe), but it's almost tarnished by the fact that UT's star player had to sit it out and no one will let them forget it.

I'd have rather Colt played. Gets rid of all the "what-ifs?"

I'd still rather see the Tigers or Gators there though! WDE! Is it August yet?

Bama's National Championship is definitely a tanished one. I give it to them, but they nearly lost it despite Texas not having Colt McCoy. That Freshmen was something to watch. He did his family proud.

When the reported was questioning McCoy after the game, I could not believe how he handled that. The questions were crazy..."how do you feel?". Geez, give us all a break.

I was getting very annoyed by the constant references to Heisman Trophy winner, Ingram, and his father in prison. So many simpathetic references to the elder Ingram. He is serving a 10 year prison sentence for fraud and money laundering. OK, he is proud of his son, but he apparently is a felon. Put the simpathy on the Bama player and drop the father already. If that is the case let's throw in some simpathy to those the father hurt with his law breaking actions. It was repeated so many times, it was an embarrassment to all.

I hope that Colt's injuries are not a career breaker. Congrats to Alabama on a good season.

Let's not forget that if there was any justice in the system Bama would be sharing that title with Boise State. Bama deserves to be National Champs, but I don't see how anyone who watched both the Fiesta Bowl and National Championship Game can say in good conscience that Boise State wouldn't have stood a chance against Bama.

I mean, last year's Sugar Bowl alone is enough evidence to show that Bama is not infallible. In my opinion, Bama was arguably better last season than they were this season but they still lost to the Utes.

Being a die-hard Alabama fan, and going to school here, I completely agree with y'all that if Colt McCoy hadn't been injured, that the game would have turned out differently. Would they have won? That's a big if, that unfortunately we'll never know. I do feel that if Colt had been present the entire game, that Alabama would have had a fight on it's hands, and battling uphill the entire game. I hate that fact that he went down, he's such a good competitor that it almost killed me when he got hurt.

Needless to say, he would have changed the outcome of the game if he had been present. I mean look at Alabama during the 3rd quarter and majority of the 4th. We came out playing alot more conservatively, allowing Gilbert to relax in the position and hook-up with Shipley down the field. And had it not been for the turnovers to touchdowns in the last 4 minutes of the game, Texas still could have beaten us. That alone makes the case that if McCoy had been throwing the ball, that the outcome may be in Texas' favor.
