^2nd year, at either varsity or high school, in the US and A. But the grades and ages for high school are different to those elsewhere (there is Junior High in there somewhere, which most of us don't have), so I'm not sure whether it would equate to Form 2 in the UK or not.

In the U.S. it denotes, as BBN stated, the 2nd year both for high school and college. They are ranked Freshmen, sophomore, junior and finally senior.
