I've been using Comcast for tv and Internet for many years now and there is always something wrong. I get one thing fixed and a new one pops up.

They insist that's it's my equipment/wiring/location or whatever until I've contacted them a dozen times and they finally decide it's their fault.

VOD didn't work half the time and the signal was too low for months, then they finally fixed the amp on the road causing the problem.

Two years ago, my Internet signal was down most of the time. They had me swap out modems three times, sent a tech who changed splitters, told me I had too many splits going to the modem (well, that part was correct and I fixed it) but eventually they caved when all my neighbors were having the same issue and discovered that there was noise in the lines on our road.

Now, Internet signal is being dropped for a few minutes several times a day for the past month. They're talking about splitters yet again or "it may be my equipment" or there could be moisture in the drop line/box outside. ](*,)

I wish I wasn't addicted to this stuff and could just take all the boxes/modem back and cancel the entire lot.

Well the same could be said for Verizon's piece of shit service. I haven't tried their TV service but I have tried their DSL and its full of issues. Their Customer Service sucks major balls and not in a good way either.

They will keep you on the phone forever and you're likely to not be helped by a person in the U.S. they transfer you to someone across the seas and they guide you through a boring process until they say "We can't figure out your issue I think I will send a tech guy out your way three weeks from today, how does that sound?"

They just piss me off so much but I am glad I can download without getting a letter in the mail from asshole corporations saying "You downloaded our album from so and so and didn't pay for it"

Let me translate "24/7 Customer Service" .... Please hold.....

The Comcast telephone menu is so bizzare it's laughable

The automated menu begins with

Press one for trouble with your service
Press one for cable television
Please hold while I bring up your acct

Okay, I've got your account
To verify, if the last four digits of your home phone number are _ _ _ _ , press one

You're at the main menu
Press one for trouble with your service
Press one for cable television
Please hold while I transfer you to a customer representative

All of our representatives are currently busy with other customers
Please stay on the line and someone will assist you momentarily
Your estimated wait time is twenty minutes

[after 20 mins of muzack and Comcast ads]

Hello, my name is _________
May I have your 10 digit phone number starting with the area code

 ](*,)

and yes, they have online chat which I've used several times
you go through the same process but you have to type much more in before anyone opens the chat and it often takes longer

@GamerBear

I am really surprised that your Verizon experience sucks. I have had Fios TV and cable for over 3 years and have had almost no problems what so ever. They did accidentally shut up off my cable in my building once. A neighbor moved and their apartment was vacant for a month but they shut off mine instead. I got credited for the day it was off.

I have known many people in MA actually switch from Comcast to Verizon, particularly Fios, because Comcast just flat out sucks.

Oh, honey - I feel your pain.

For years, our Comcast ( sorry, now "Xfinity") service was for shit.

They tried to tell us that because of where our house was located on our street that we were "in between curb amps", meaning - in essence - that our neighbors closer to the main street and those living on the cul-de-sac were all getting better service than we were, but they were working on the problem. (For THREE years ! :grrr:)

VOD froze, (but we'd still get charged for PPV's until we got on the phone, talked to some service rep in Outer Mongolia, and raised holy hell until they removed it from our bill.) All the High Def channels were a constant headache, the picture would pixelate, then the audio would drop out for no apparent reason...) Internet speed would crawl to a halt during business hours. (100 mps, my ass ! )

We were "this close" to switching to satellite when...

Lo and Behold ! Verizon appeared out of nowhere and started laying their FIOS cables all over town, including our front yard.

Well, saints be praised, it was a miracle !

Suddenly, Xfinity employees were calling US asking how they could improve their service ! 25 new HD channels appeared on the tier overnight - no more freezing, no more slow Internet. If you called to complain about something, you immediately were put through to a LIVE person to whom English was not a third language.

I swear to God, if you asked for a blowjob they would have responded, "Is this Thursday between 2 and 4 good for you ?"

Ahh, the joys of competition.

And also, fuck those bastards for not giving us that level of service in the first place.

i HATE comcast service. their modems suck major ass, and when the modem is working the internet isn't and god forbid you want to actually watch tv. wanna make a phone call using their voice service hope you like the sound of static my friend you have a better chance of winning the lotto than getting all 3 of their services to work in harmony for more than a day or two

I swear to God, if you asked for a blowjob they would have responded, "Is this Thursday between 2 and 4 good for you ?"

Of course the only complaint you will have then is that they send a female technician to "service" you! #-o Ugh that sounds like the opening of a bad porno scene.

You hit the nail on the head my friend. That is exactly the problem. It's their problem to fix but they don't care until they have competition.
I'm hoping Verizon comes this way with some lines. ..|

It's only a matter of time.

And until then call Xfinity - better yet - email them - and tell them how tempting the satellite TV offers you've been receiving in the mail have been looking.

HD pics and 5.1 sound in up to FIVE rooms in your house for the same price you're paying for their piss-poor service now ? (Never mind you prolly don't have five HDTV's and 5.1 audio in five rooms in your house - it's time to play hard ball...)

Not to mention DVR's that let you start a movie in one room and finish it in another ?

Sounds like nirvana to me.

These cock-suckers have been raping us for WAY too long, now !

A change is gonna come.

And SOON !
