Coming out.. a question of life and death?

The mere fact that you told your counselor and your world DIDN'T end, should help you see that it isn't that big a deal anymore. Yeah, it was 20 years ago, but the world is changing pretty fast. You took the first step. By admitting to someone else, you also admitted it to YOURSELF.

The next steps will become easier. I don't tell anyone that simply doesn't need to know about my sexual orientation, but if it comes up in conversation I don't have a problem with it either. It gets easier and totally natural as time goes on.

You'll figure it out. Baby steps. I think you made the biggest step already, and didn't even realize it.
