"Strawberry and Chocolate" is a pretty cool movie (way up near the top in my favorites) about a forbidden gay crush...and it is subtitled, and filmed in CUBA. Very touching and sincere humanity is big, through the movie.

It suddenly occurred to me that I am now able to participate in a huge yearly, multi-day event they have up in the mountains. So I went to their website to see if there was a place where I could submit to be considered. Ends up the submission deadline was January 5th. I thought "Oh well"...then thought "Well, no harm in asking." So I sent them an e-mail: "Hi. Apparently, I missed the submission deadline by...well, a lot. But I'd like to offer my services anyhow. Here's what I do - (explanation). Let me know if you think you could use somebody like me."

They wrote back. "We definitely know who you are, and we'd be thrilled to have you on board. We haven't quite finished getting the line-up in place, so we'll definitely make room for you. Thank you so much for reaching out to us!"
