I found this article interesting. It's good to know there is hard evidence out there to support what gay men and women have been shouting from the rooftops for centuries.

how can you tell though, that this is something that happens when we are born and not the way the brain develops as we grow up? there have been various proofs on both sides of the question whether homosexuals have that decided lifestyle when they are born or if it is a result of upbringing.

the evidence, as always, is insufficient; and the research is unfinished.


i don't want you to think that i believe homosexuality is a choice, because myself being a gay man—i think i can say for all of us that no one will easily say, "oh yeah, i definitely chose to be gay".

all i'm saying is that such conclusions cannot be very convincing to any firm believers of each side of the question with inexhaustive research and little hard evidence.

i do support the research, though. i shall spit in anyone's face who wants to tell me that i chose to be gay. HA.

Sorry but I've known thousands of gay men and have never once seen this phenomenon that you're talking about. I can assure you that I'm 100% gay... not bisexual.. I dont' have heterosexual trysts or fantasies.

The entire Los Angeles Times article was published in our local paper today. It'll be interesting to see what kind of letters to the editor it generates, not to mention the coverage it gets in the local alternative weekly newspaper.

This is encouraging, I think. Most people feel more compassion when there is objective evidence for something that is otherwise only subjective and self-reported. It lends credibility to our claims about our feelings for others -- who we find attractive, who we fall in love with, who we want to make love to, who we want to just get down and dirty with ...

... and who we want to marry!
