We knew that he had an association with the Ukrainian pro-Russian leaders that led to his resignation....but there is now apparently a clear line that runs from Putin to the Trump campaign that explains Trump's pro-Putin sentiments, the interference with the GOP platform on the seizure of Crimea and likely the Wikileaks hacking of Hillary's campaign emails at the open behest of Trump.

Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort once offered to help Vladimir Putin advance Moscow’s interests as part of a multimillion-dollar contract agreed with a Russian billionaire with close ties to the Kremlin, it has been reported.

According to a report by the Associated Press released on Wednesday, Manafort proposed a confidential strategy in 2005 whereby he would influence US politics, business dealings and news coverage inside the US, Europe and the former Soviet republics, in a way that would benefit the Putin government.

While the contract apparently ended...there is no question that Manafort must have seen the potential to cash in YUGE if Trump became president. There is no way, given his own words, that Trump was not aware of the machinations of his campaign chair and that he didn't understand the quid pro quo.

Just saw Rep. Nunes truly act in a wretchedly political way to give fig leaf of a cover to Trump's wiretapping allegations. No reason to do what he just did... he should be removed from the intelligence committee after this unprofessional, blatantly partisan stunt.

I expected nothing more or less from Nunes.

I'm sure that Trump will reward him well for sowing doubt and confusion. You could tell that they had something that they were waiting to spring this week.

I would also note that it would seem to be entirely normal that if one is monitoring foreign contacts who are speaking with TrumpCo....one would expect that some conversations or messages would be incidentally collected.

And it has been made quite clear that there are investigations into the TrumpCo. team's interactions with Russians.

So Nunes really doesn't have news. He's just trying to shift attention.

It should have been kept secret so you guys can continue to deny the surveillance? I don't think so.

That's a tough call -- Trump is certainly capable of being sufficiently oblivious to not have known.

To not have known about what?

E.g. someone met with a Russian diplomat.

Or met with a Russian diplomat but denied it?

Even Pelosi did that:

Photo contradicts Pelosi's statement about not meeting Kislyak

The Dems and MSM are losing what little credibility they have left by peddling the new McCarthyism. They are guaranteeing a second term for President Trump.

Would be better for the Dems if they just admitted they lost the election due to their own failings and started the process of rebuilding. Will they ever do that?

The election is not the issue, it's that we got a president who is clueless about so many things, an idiot about others, and even though he's been sworn in remains unpresidented.

these are truly the biggest group of money grubbing whores ----with the russians they have overtaken our government----it's not surprising that gangsters would take over ----it's just so bold because trump only cares about money and they think they can do anything they want ---trump's a moron and doesn't know how in deep shit he is in.

Well it certainly looks like where there's smoke, there's fire.

US officials: Info suggests Trump associates may have coordinated with Russians

The FBI has information that indicates associates of President Donald Trump communicated with suspected Russian operatives to possibly coordinate the release of information damaging to Hillary Clinton's campaign, US officials told CNN.

This is either what Nunes knew was coming, or his partisan attempt at providing a fig leaf just pissed off the wrong people enough that they decided to push the info out the door.
