There is one email that i'm worried about.

Recieved an email say john001. When i click reply, the "To" has changed to Anna003.
How can this be??

*the email address above is not the actual emails but similar.

When you send out an e-mail, it is possible to specify a different return address. Look up the "Reply to.." function in your e-mail program.

This can be legitimate, but it can also be a way to gain your confidence with one legitimate e-mail address and then trick you into sending a reply to a malicious address.

Also, the "from" address is not usually verified. You can send a message with whatever you want in the "from" field instead of your real address.

/\ it can be legit i agree. however, it seems to me i most often see email spam that is like this. my guess is it's spam at the least or they are trying to confirm your email address so they can send you even more spam!

Interesting. I didn't know that.

you really need to read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-mail#Header_fields

NOTHING in an e-mail that you see in a regular mail program is "real", you can basically make up almost everything.

and is in the last thread .. do not post e-mail adresses here unless they are public anyway.
especially in spam mails the bogus-from address can be a real persons address.
