Congratulations Mr. Priebus/Another sad day

Re: Another Sad Day

And even though the WHOLE country has laughed at him for the last couple of years...

I SUSPECT that Michael Steele BELIEVES that he did a REALLY GOOD JOB!!!

He should be thankful. He could be like Reagan when he finished, and not be able to remember if he believed he did a good job or not.

Re: Another Sad Day

I'm sure that God's Own Party is relieved that their fling with diversity only underscored what they all believed in their hearts when Steele was first 'elected'.

Now they can choose a white, religious values, gun-totin', homo hatin', good ole boy, the way that Jesus would want them to.

Re: Another Sad Day

I will not waste this opportunity to point out GOP idiocy..

Michael Steel = their version of Barack Obama
Sarah Palin =their version of Hillary Clinton

Both have crashed and burned. Don't try to be something your not.

Re: Another Sad Day

Not at all.

They should never have made such a stupid choice in the first place.

Like the choice of Palin for VP, Steele represented an hysterically funny, but tragic and cynical attempt to step out of their safety zone in order to try to expand their base.

I'm sure that out of the 25 or so black people in the US who are bona fide republicans, Steele seemed to be the best choice, but I also can't help thinking that he was also selected as a designed-to-fail leader.

Anyhow, thank goodness that frightening and regrettable era is past and the republicans can return to their roots.

GOP Picks Priebus to Head Party, Replacing Steele

Wisconsin GOP chief Reince Priebus is the new chairman of the Republican National Committee and will lead the party in the run-up to the 2012 presidential campaign.

The new chairman's name is pronounced Ryns Pree'-bus.

A former top lieutenant to Steele, Priebus promised to hire top-notch staff, restructure the organization and put it on solid financial footing so the next GOP presidential nominee will be prepared to take on Obama. Later, he rejected suggestions the national party organization's power might have waned, given the proliferation of outside groups that have assumed campaign functions the party historically has performed.

Reince Priebus claimed to own five guns, a tiny arsenal by comparison with that of Missouri's Ann Wagner, who owns 16 including an assault rifle, the mention of which inspired an excited burst of applause from the gathered faithful (I'm not kidding).

Immediately after the final vote that Priebus won with 97 of 168 votes, Priebus’ first words as newly-elected Chair were, “I want to thank God, I want to thank Jesus for this moment. I am so blessed.” He went on to talk about himself as “a little kid growing up in Kenosha,” and, “my first date with my wife, Lincoln Day dinner with Henry Hyde and Jim Sensenbrenner — which should tell you a little bit something about me.”

Last year, while making a bid for the position, Priebus and a few other potential chairs took a meeting with the National Organization for Marriage’s Maggie Gallagher to affirm their opposition to marriage equality.

GOProud chair Christopher Barron congratulated Priebus by celebrating the end of Steele’s tenure.

“Today is a good day for conservatives and for the Republican Party. The election of Reince Priebus marks the end of Michael Steele’s disastrous tenure at the RNC,” he said.

Re: Congratulations Mr. Priebus

Owning guns doesn't make one gun crazy.

Owning guns and being crazy, however, just might do the trick.

Need a light for your Silva Thin?

Are you Mr. Priebus' psychiatrist?

Obama's Kool is lit

You do realize that the picture you posted is fake. Thanks for trying though.

I've known about Priebus since he ran for alderman in the city I used to live in. He was a joke then.

Re: Congratulations Mr. Priebus

Steele wasn't fiscally all the responsible. Going to strip clubs isn't a wise expenditure of other people's money.

Re: Congratulations Mr. Priebus

If that is really the Republicans' thinking on why Steele needs to be replaced, then that is by far hypocritical bullshit, which is typical for their ilk...

So, wanting your organization to be fiscally responsible and getting rid of what you see as the individual who is being fiscally irresponsible is hypocritical?

While you may disagree with their choice, it isn't hypocrisy.

Re: Congratulations Mr. Priebus

He reminds me of Lee Atwater :D

Re: Another Sad Day

rareboy, you should understand your people better than that

last guesstimate was 2.5 million black repubs in usa

Can't be bothered.

So this is your idea of a clean slate. Figures.

Don't be silly. Oh, wait . . .
"I want to thank God and Jesus for this moment," Priebus said.
Actually, the campaign to dump Steele accelerated when Sarah Palin, being God's extra-special friend who is about to be promoted to the GOP Bishopric of Alaska, was informed by an RNC underling who can read that Steele translates to . . . STALIN!

would you 'liberals' be so condescending if a person was:

brown, religious values, gun-totin', homo hatin', good ole boy, the way that Mohammad would want them to

just wondering

Please explain (and give the context for) the underlined portion of your post.
