and let airport construction workers out of work with the infrastructure half built.

I can't believe what i see. :##:
The Politicians should be fired for this.

All Politicians should be fired but do you have a article or news source perhaps? I have no idea what they were building and why it is the Politicians fault for allowing the workers to go on holiday also....

No, the workers need jobs, they don't need holidays.
It was on my local abc News24.

You missed the key fact: the workers" "holiday" is unpaid. Plus, they didn't really GO on holiday. Please file under union busting. In the meantime, renovation at airports such as O'Hare is getting even further behind.
Follows philosophy of the Reagan-Bush years: screw you, I've got mine! (!)

The FAA has been shut down from collecting taxes across the board in addition to these projects. The govt is losing over $30 million per day. There is no end in sight as the Senate has adjourned for 5 weeks, which means the govt will lose a minimum of $1.3 billion and possibly as much as $2 billion if it takes them until late Sept to fix.

That point wasnt in the OP as I re read it just now? ? ? ?

Thanks

No that is appalling. I said the same about our civil servants. My job is 24/7 and believe me I have worked some years with about two total weeks of off time. SO I have no idea why these worthless cretins get such great schedules.....and at the detriment of the people they are supposedly representing.

Throw em out Telstra

SO I saw O'Hare but Telstra are you talking about construction in Australia?

No, it was in the news about Los Angelos airport. The TV footage showed the tower is half built with no activity working on that site, the gate was closed, no work is allowed which looks pretty bad.

Ah figures our Politicians are once again lax and lazy.

Well maybe it is a shadow stimulus for the Airline industry. God knows they could use it.... The workers not having work for five weeks while bums go on vacation from Washington is not a very good story for either side.

Where are all those jobs the Boner promised the voters in 2010?

Where are all those jobs Obama promised? That's the Presidents job

...only because you said it is the President's (possessive form) job. See Article 1, United States Constitution.* If there had been a jobs bill approved by the House, it probably was filibustered by the Senate. Try looking up Mitch McConnell's ass.

*That tired, old document that George Bush used for toilet paper.

Riiiiiight. It's Harry's fault that it's been stalled for over 4 years.... What was 4 years ago? Oh yeah, that's right.... Bush was still President. And yet you Republicans fail to mention the union restrictions the Republicans have added to the House bill. A bill union busting Republican Scott Walker would be proud of.

You Republicans also failed to mention that they passed the bill with funding shutdowns at 13 airports. All 13 of those in Democratic Senators home cities, which the Repugs openly admit was to "send a message". So who the fuck is playing games? Give me a friggin break!

Gee, if I ever get elected a US Senator does that mean that the Federal Government will build a airport in the little town where I grew up.

Call it whatever you want -- it's just another expensive taxpayers supported perk for being a Senator -- time for it to stop.

I respectfully disagree. Delta Airlines has been pressuring the House to assist them in some union busting vis-a-vis this action. It can't really be Harry Reid's fault because spending bills need to be introduced in the House.

Speaking of Harry and holidays, he was whining on the Senate floor this week because he hadn't seen his pomegranate trees lately
