Congress going on holidays, on my news TV

Riiiiiight. It's Harry's fault that it's been stalled for over 4 years.... What was 4 years ago? Oh yeah, that's right.... Bush was still President. And yet you Republicans fail to mention the union restrictions the Republicans have added to the House bill. A bill union busting Republican Scott Walker would be proud of.

You Republicans also failed to mention that they passed the bill with funding shutdowns at 13 airports. All 13 of those in Democratic Senators home cities, which the Repugs openly admit was to "send a message". So who the fuck is playing games? Give me a friggin break!

Spin it however you like. The bottom line was the House passed the bill and Harry was too busy worrying about important stuff like pomegranates and cowboy poetry festivals to actually do his job and pass something.

Of course he's been too busy to pass a budget, so I can understand him overlooking such a trivial issue. Hope he enjoys his vacation!

Sen. Jay Rockefeller's gripe is that he wants funding for Morgantown Municipal Airport in West Virginia.

Here's the weekly flight schedule -- all flights to Dulles in DC.

Wouldn't it be grand if we all had our own private airports at taxpayer expense.

Actually no, I would be embarrassed.

How can anyone not call this waste? Molten?

This is how the liberals are looking after the little guy. Rockefeller is keeping thousands of people from working -- just to have his own private airport.

The reason that the FAA is unfunded is because Harry Reid will not allow the bill passed in the House to come up for a vote in the Senate.

That's Harry for you. No budget two years plus, bills get passed by the House and don't even come up for a vote in the Senate. Now he's off for five weeks. Just as well, stroked out fuck is about worthless anyway.

Some uninformed statements here.

Harry Reid is not the only person to blame. Both Republican and Democratic senators other than Reid objected to bringing up the other's version of the bill.

In the Senate, if someone objects to bringing up a bill, it generally takes 60 votes to overrule that.

It's not like Reid just decided himself not to take it up or something.

You are also incorrect about the no budget bills for two years (though I realize that is a favorite talking point in right wing media these days). The Senate passed the same budget for the remainder of this fiscal year as the House did back in April.

Facts aren't anything Republicans are interested in.

The pissing match is over EAS (Essential Air Service). This program in its entirety costs under $200 million per annum. It subsidizes airlines like Delta, United, etc... to service smaller cities that otherwise might not have service. It was one of the conditions to deregulate the industry in 1978. The Republicans are pissing over $15 million in funds they don't want spent vs. Democrats. Because of their "just say no" bullshit, the Republicans will cost the treasury somewhere between $1.3 BILLION and $2 BILLION! (Enough to pay over 100 YEARS of the difference in funding between the R and Ds).

Unreal!
