Dude - you know the Middle East - or have personal knowledge - congrats

I work in the media business - tv/entertainment/news - small world

NBC is a big player in that world

One of the bennies of the gig is you hear stuff about athletes, musicians, news people, entertainers, etc.

Gregory is not well liked

He is a poser

NBC would just as soon he cut it out - and behind the scenes they are likely telling him to do so - that he is NOT the story - and should not try to be

hope that suffices

my sources are protected by the fifth amendment - LOL - you wouldn't want me to give that up would u?

The far right and Fox News believe it is unAmerican to question the polices of Bush in doing so we are not true Americans.

Here’s a little follow up morsel:

Snow’s suggestion to Gregory; “… I think you need to read the report” was apparently not intended to imply that Gregory was inappropriately unprepared for the press conference.
SNOW in a CNN interview (Aired December 10):

I don't think members of the press, really, at the beginning of this briefing had had a full opportunity [to read the Baker-Hamilton report]. It had been available to them for two hours and to me for five.

In the same CNN interview, Snow provided two reasons he regarded Gregory’s question “framed in a partisan way”:
SNOW: Because, number one, it did not reflect the stated views and approaches of the commission itself. I mean, what they had said.

Secondly, I'd only heard that particular formulation through a partisan lens as a critique of the president, rather than as a critique of -- or a characterization of the report itself.

(follow link above for full text of the interview)

"Can this report be seen as anything other than a rejection of this President's handling of the war?"

That's a question??

That's David doing a "check me out" - I'm ready to go primetime

Looks like a question to me.

BTW, I rarely visit the CE&P forums because chance1's avatar drives me crazy. Jesse McCartney flickering in the corner of my eye? Save me.

Has anyone read the Report? President Bush hasn't. Rumsfeld (remember him?) glanced at it.
Sadly, both suffer from the disease, ADD. I think it has something to do with severe potty training as children.

so gregory apologized

i wonder what the neocons here at JUb think of that?

the silence is deafening

I wonder how long it will be to see an apology from Chance1 to everyone he smeared here at JUB.

I think you mixed up le names -- it was Press Sec Snow who apologized. You were, of course, 100% right in that the smearing sisters won't have anything more to say -- they never admit they are wrong or that they cross the line.

snow yes

sorry about that

lol

not a word about it, but down the road the neocons here will use the incident as proof of somesort that the media is biased even though snow has apologized for the accusation.

this is the essence of the smear tactics of the neocons and the republicans in america.

lie....

insist you are right even when its obvious you arent

quietly apologise after its too late to matter

use the false acusation as a reason to lie about something else, as if you never lied and apologised

repeat the process

this is what we call conservative republican family values

I wonder how long it will be to see an apology from Chance1 to everyone he smeared here at JUB.

smeared?

please lay out the smearing that was done

as for Gregory/Snow - the video doesn't lie

Why Snow apologized is anyone's guess - he was asked/told to, he was feeling in the holiday spirit, Bush admin is concerned about "partisan" arguments

Doesn't change what I see from Gregory not just in this incident
Doesn't change what took place - what Gregory said

Snow apologized for referring to Gregory as partisan - that's it. My guess is he must feel like he should be bigger than that. Perhaps he should. It doesn't mean he doesn't think it. In effect, he's saying he stooped to Gregory's level and shouldn't

And it doesn't change what Gregory said

How you can hear these things and not conclude that it's rejection of the President's policy?

lol

so Snow even says he's wrong and the minions dont want to back down

this is the danger of the Bush admins tactics of killing the messenger

what is scary is that they know it is how it works

sling mud with the fervor of a glutton at a smorgasbord and then meekly apologise later

rely on the minions to not pay any attention to the truth and you have successfully altered the think and speak of a nation with a lie

over and over again the republican values and techinques of mudd and deception are proven to be a means of keeping the choir in line

Snow did not sling mud

he told Gregory he was being partisan - he decided to apologize - he decided he erred - doing in that forum whatever - his right - and perhaps good for him

to YOU he was glutton

instead of perhaps thinking better of something - something YOU never do

that is on YOU

YOU make it impossible for anyone to re-think/re-consider their remarks because YOU destroy them either way

must be great to have it both ways

chance, just chill out and reread the thread.

its obvious that snow was wrong, that the attack machine went on overdrive to cover his ass.

he then owned up to being wrong, but the gop minions have held onto it, including you, if i read your posts after the apology correctly, and refuse to admit that the partisan charge was wqrong even though the man who originally made the charge says it was wrong and inncorrect.

the overall effect is placing yet one more story, completely untrue, in the mythology of the biased press arguement of the conservatives and the gop.

Whether you are a willing participant is irrelevant, as you, in action, did participate and are still defending your participation.

you have done precisely as they have expected you to.

I wonder how long it will be to see an apology from Chance1 to everyone he smeared here at JUB.

Since Chance doesn't smear often, it would be more interesting to see how soon people like Alfie, Andreus, and Smelter, true smear-champions, will apologize.

As for Gregory, the apology of one man does not change the truth of what another man did. I still see the question, because it was launched from an unprepared basis, one that was asked from a partisan agenda -- why else would he have constantly interrupted Snow and not let the man get a completed sentence spoken?

kulindahr, dont try it

get real and get on topic

this is about being wrong on this topic, nothing more, nothing less

in america today, if you stand up for yourself against the repubs, they say you smear them.

if you are trying to go all mcCarthy on us and make a list, be sure to add yourself there, my friend.
