Conservatives on LGBT Issues: By Candidate

I found a pdf of the conservatives on LGBT issues. For the upcoming year and the election in 2012. Or is it 1012?
Anyway here are the statements of the possible GOP candidates on LGBT issues.

This memo looks at the current field of potential Republican nominees for president and evaluates their stances on various LGBT-related issues in light of comments made in interviews, news stories, and articles. There are many potential challengers to President Barack Obama in 2012 but this memo surveys the 13 politicians who have emerged as major contenders for the Republican nomination.

I don't think this will surprise anyone, although I'm sure the regular deniers will come across and say they are not that bad of a person.
Of course the continuing hypocrisy is rampant. Take a look of old Newt, for examply. Haley Barbour is just as outlandish as is Haley Barbour.

I'm sure a lot of homos don't vote based on LGBT issues.

And we all know a lot of conservatives who either vote that way because it is their family tradition or those that vote only pocketbook issues.

If the conservatives would just stay out of the bedrooms of the nation, who knows....maybe we could bring ourselves to stomach their self-interested 'me first' attitudes.

But any homo who could vote for a person or a party who would deny them their fundamental rights to the pursuit of life liberty and happiness by restricting their right to marry or serve in the military really does have a hole in their soul somewhere.

In case it wasn't clear, that doesn't mean I would vote for them, but I would be open to doing so if other aspects of their candidacy were in line with my own feelings ore belief.

With Bachmann, I don't see a winner there. You remember that state of the union address she gave? It kind of tells you everything you need to know. She is seen as a Tea Party candidate. She doesn't have the wide range of experience. She has the Tea Party support, and that's a critical faction in the Republican Party. The eventual nominee is going to have to have the support of at least a preponderance of the tea party people.

I don't even think Palin is running. Why would you step down from a superior position of influence to undergo a nasty negative vicious campaign that you will probably lose? She is doing great. She has got a lot of influence where she is. I don't think she will run.

2012 is going to be a very different race because it's going to be all about President Obama and how he is governing, not about the personal background of the Republican candidate. So, in the past, somebody like Newt Gingrich with a lot of baggage might have been damaged, but this time around I think that may be put aside.
