The conservative group Judicial Watch today filed a lawsuit in federal court in Washington, D.C. in an attempt to force the administration to release a death photo of Osama bin Laden. The group has specifically requested a photo of bin Laden laying on the floor of the room in which he was killed.

Judicial Watch claims it has been "irreparably harmed" by the administration's refusal to release the photo(s), the withholding of which they claim to be illegal under the Freedom of Information Act.

The president told CBS News that his administration has no plans to release any of Osama bin Laden's death photos. "We don't trot this stuff out as trophies," he said. "We don't need to spike the football."

Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) says he has seen 15 of the photos, which he describes as "pretty gruesome." Inhofe described "brains hanging out of bin Laden's eye socket" and a bullet hole through an ear.

Sarah Palin has also called for the release of the photos, claiming such a display would serve "as a warning to others seeking America's destruction."

^ That phrase ("irreparably harmed") is usually used when someone is seeking financial compensation for perceived wrongdoings.

I have not been able to find any source which claims that Judicial Watch is seeking damages, however.

Evidently there are those that do.
Perhaps the plaintiffs could purchase on E-bay, blow-up dolls of Osama Bin Laden that they could romance. Inhofe spent over an hour with the said photos this week! :luv2:

She must be referring to members of the RNC.

Some days you make me laugh out loud. Thanks.

So accept everything on faith? :-)

No photographic or other proof necessary?

So the republican congressmen who viewed the photos and said that Bin Laden is definitely dead and that the images were gruesome, gory, maccabre, and disturbing are all lying and joining in on the conspiracy?

who is now part of that conspiracy to pretend that Bin Laden is dead when he isnt now? lets make the list.

The US Exec offices, the US CIA, the US millitary, the US State dept, the US FBI, the US DHS, the Pakistani millitary, the pakistani Gov't, the Taliban, Al Queda, The Bin Laden family, and now the republican senators.

Is THAT the conspirators all on the list now?

It looks like that here in America we have more than our share of crazies. Maybe we could deport them all to Mexico to live with the cartels. I bet they could get all the pictures they would like down there.

May the lawyers who will manage this lawsuit bankrupt this group. It would serve them right. Let it drag out for years.

Shit. You don't need to see the pics to know he's dead. Just more conservative whining.

If the pics were released, the conservatives will whine about how Obama shouldn't have released when because they're now a recruiting tool and how it will inflame.

Palin wants the pics on display as a trophy. That woman is nuts.

She's from Alaska. Every Alaskan I've known that loves it there has been a bit nuts to completely insane. The sane ones move. No joke.

I just have one question, how many dead American troops is the release of these photos worth?

Maybe we could just send her a copy of the Zapruder flick.
Then she could get off every time she sees the back of JFK's head getting blown off. (!)
Bitch.
