The shooting of the shower scene took half a day, during which the male actors stayed naked. There were some pretty women on the set, chatting with the men during breaks. So much so they ended up with a limp erection.

 
These two actually reflect the historical accuracy : in ancient Greece, men always trained in the nude. Civilians at the Gymnasion (= "place where one is naked"), so did the soldiers (Hoplites) on the training ground where, in addition to some sports, they exercised archery, wrestling, spear throw, sword fighting... (with shield and helmet, but likely with wooden swords, to spare the real ones).

Imagine a training ground on the Greek countryside during the summer months (35°C)....
The men would exercise archery in the morning (naked), wrestling in the afternoon (naked), sword fight the next morning (naked), javelin throw in the afternoon (naked)...
Being a former military myself, it is unlikely that these guys bothered putting on a tunic during the evening's campfire....

Did soldiers have sex together ? Sometimes, probably. Their belief in pagan mythology did not ban man-sex like ours today. In ancient Greece it was acceptable for single young men to explore sexuality with each other, as the young women lived in seclusion in the family home.
