Wonder what is the story behind picture 1 ? Not one has kept his trunks in place.
They are probably Russians, Ukrainians, Bulgarians or Romanians (Black Sea countries), because they are all Caucasians ("whites").
I first thought of a joke by the photographer for the purpose of the picture, but then most of the guys would be laughing or doing some stupid gesture.

Looks like they are obeying an order or playing some ritual...

I think it"s a troop on exercise in full combat outfit who were granted a short swim break in the Black Sea.
Having no towel, they dry under the sun together to be on-time for the next activity. Pulling the trunks down is the only way to have the bushy manly parts dried by the sun...
