On Topic Discussion cormac missing again

Regarding some posts that were (THANKFULLY) deleted, I'm probably the only person ever to talk to W on the phone after the tragic event, and clearly there was something tragic. He was terribly shy, and his voice was breaking, and apparently there was something that was catastrophic for him.

If that stuff hadn't been deleted, I was ready, now, to make a post here to say something like "CAN'T SOME OF YOU GUYS JUST LET GO OF THIS, PLEASE?" I believe there was some truth behind everything, though I'm not sure HOW much. W was definitely in deep distress.

Spending so much time and energy on this other issue that was so utterly unrelated to Cormac - I saw the diversion as a form of dishonoring Cormac by making comparisons that were undeserved. After all, the entire side topic in this thread, which is supposed to be about a UK member in the middle of 2022, regarding something barely within this decade and from a different part of this planet than Cornac, was entirely dominated by the naysayers. If all of this was brought up in order to make malicious and scurrilous comparisons, it was entirely uncalled for, and unfair.

I do hope Cormac is okay and that he will reappear here. Though we virtually never interacted in any form, I've considered his presence to be an asset of these Forums.

I feel there is a valid comparison to be made. Both Cormac and the person who has been expunged from the thread attempted to pass off untrue personal information as true. That wasn't just a matter of knocking a few years off their ages or adding a few inches to their dicks, but major life and death stuff. I'm sure they're not the only ones, but they got found out.

I really have no idea what's going on in this thread.

But it's surprising, and quite sad, to learn that so many Jubbers, who I like, apparently can't stand each other.

Beware the cult of personality. Gets ya every time. This place was on my internet rotation as a teen 20 years ago. It was packed with shiny clever people and of course the panoply of nutty fruitcakes. Kind of a golden age. Then it soured a bit with drama-llama negativity overload. (not naming names coughjasuncough.) Signs of the times I suppose. But since then I just glean whatever little sparks I can when I mosey to this here part of internet town. It still has its moments.

I also had a pretty good gay/lesbian Canadian forum I frequented that I could never seem to find again later.

I've replied at least twice to express my best regard for Cormac. I remember enjoying a few conversations on JUB with him, even thought I wasn't as 'close' to him as some other JUB'ers here. I know even less as to what goes on in his life, let alone potential reasons why he disappeared, as I dont think it's truly my business. Still, I wish him the best in whatever potential struggles or hardship possibly has him.

With that, honestly, I had to reply to this tangent topic that was born out of this thread:

I agree 100% that diversity on JUB is declining and that if you don't conform to a certain ideology, you get ripped apart.

I must point out in frustration that NotHardUp1 is not necessarily guilt-free of this; your post here was a response addressing his statement, which is why I'm bringing him up.

In more than 1 occassion, at least one conversation which happened in my own thread, he (NotHardUp1) had not respected the topic author's opinion which differed greatly than his own.

In my specific instance, I had once casually inquired 6 years ago about work as a porn company assistant; particularly where one might potentially find job opportunities for it. His first and only appearance in the thread was to bicker over my alleged naiveté, disrespectfully attempting to ridicule me for even asking about what it's like to be one. Another disrespectful member who replied before him had told me to "dream on", trying to personally render my qualification without any qualification from him (the other disrespectful JUB'er) to do so. When I called that member's rudeness out, NotHardUp1 was quick to jump to his defense, attempting frailly to justify the rude JUB'er's remark as "not impolite but realistic". (In other words, according to NotHardUp1, the rude member had reason to piss on my legs and tell me it's the rain.)

It was this, and at least one other thread that wasn't mine, that impressed on me that NotHardUp1 has somewhat of a single-minded and opinionated worldview on things, not readily able to accept that even people who he may regard as 'dweebish', puerile and the like have valid opinions and thought-processes that make this world a larger place. (Heh. If a porn company position other than a model is what sparked curiosity, why shouldn't a discussion about it be allowed to potentially turn thoughtful and fruitful without it having to be regarded as foolish?)

Of course, Mr. NotHardUp1 had absolutely nothing to say when, recently, my older self had rehashed my 6-year-old thread with mention of all these non-model porn assistance job positions. (Surprise, surprise to my 6-years younger self! These non-porn-actor porn jobs did exist in search postings, and in fact I wasn't unrealistic in my inquiry about them.)

And, for the record, I'm not ready to buy that he didn't see and read the rehashed thread.

There most certainly is a hive mentality and it's true to say that anyone who goes against it risks getting bullied. It's even more noticeable in CE&P which is dominated by a handful of members and where anything politically conservative (with a small c) or not sufficiently right on or deferential will be met with howls of outrage.

I'm still missing Cormac's presence on JUB. I expect to get bullied for saying that.

I'm not sure that it isn't too late to apologize, but I do if it isn't.

If refuting a point is bullying, then I'm guilty. My impression of bullying was more along the ad hominem attacks, but I'll concede it is many things.

I searched your threads and re-read the first page of the one you refer to. The other Jubber in question was Benvolio, no friend of mine, but we (you and I) would still disagree about the post he made.
