i wanna go to new orleans for halloween this year and im really having trouble decidin on a costume... i want something sexy but not trashy and something original. any thoughts?

Don't be too original. Last Hallowe'en I went as Invisible Kid from the Legion of Super-Heroes (and not one of the better known costume variants). Hearing "I don't know who that is" gets very old, very fast.

Dress up as Saint John the Baptist and Salome.

(Make a 'silver' platter out of tinfoil around your neck (with blue make up and lots of blood) and wear an ancient Greek/Orientalist dress with a fake head sticking out underneath).

Invisible Kid has little going for him. Obscurity isn't necessarily originality. A good Halloween costume stands out by being scary or bizarre.

Seriously, I think BigDestiny has something with the superhero motif, but I'd say more one that's famous who nobody really goes as.... actually, you could theme it up even more and do Gambit from the X-Men: he's got a huge following, his home is New Orleans (bonus points with the locals!), his costume's a bit tricky but the right one will be instantly recognizable. Just a thought...

Since your sn is Fangbanger, I am assuming that you are fan of TrueBlood. You could go as a fangbanger...dress in normal clothes and have two bite marks on your neck with blood dripping. Or you could try to be one of the character such as the Reverend.
