Sexy but not trashy? How about a little something by Givenchy?

i was thinking of goin as tom cruise in risky business... but if i go to the club in briefs, im afraid ill get violated

umm...no although i might feel more comfortable if i was wearin gym shorts but theyd have to be really short. do they make soffe shorts that can support a crotch?

Hmmmm...no.

OK, I know I'm unnecessarily purist about Halloween costumes, but wearing shorts with a Risky Business costume is just WRONG WRONG WRONG! Bad queer! I oughta smack you across the snout with a rolled up Vogue!

See, what makes that costume sexy is the unguarded intimacy of the shirt and the tighty-whities. You have to unbutton the shirt down to the sternum and you have to give a lot of thigh. And slouchy socks, don't forget the slouchy socks.

I understand, of course, that one might not be comfortable in a huge crowd with one's tender bits so easily accessed... I wouldn't wear that costume for exactly that reason. And the impossibility of finding shoes that would protect your tootsies in a seething crowd without detracting from the no-shoes sexiness of the outfit. That's why I've been sticking to full-coverage type costumes with boots: pirate, vampire, eighteenth-century nobleman, etc.

But back to you... you can wear bikini briefs under the tightie-whities, that would give you some support and make you feel more dressed. White deck shoes or tennis shoes might do for the feet.

well i think im wearin black boxer briefs instead of shorts... the ones i have picked out look really sexy. and i know tom cruise wore tighty whities but ive seen people do it with black underwear and it work out just fine

another problem is im dark complected so a white shirt looks practically see through

Well, you'll really look better with white underpants. More recognizeable. And the white shirt shouldn't be a problem if you buy a quality white shirt made of good thick Oxford cloth. Try Brooks Brothers or some other deeply preppie/WASP establishment.

(And yes, that's expensive, but you're talking to someone who never puts less than three hundred dollars into a costume).

But scrolling back to the idea of going in a couples costume with your friend: if she's a hot cop, you can be a hot cat burglar. For that you need a black leotard and the kind of mask that ties on (you'll probably find it in the Zorro section), a black watch cap and a black bag with fake money and jewelry protruding from it. Black high-tops would be the best shoes, I think.

im not going with her anymore, she has to take her daughter trick-or-treating. and i tried the black underwear and it looks so much hotter than white... plus there are to many potential problems with white underwear.

J. Crew has decent white Oxfords that should be thick enough. They're not too expensive.

I agree with Swellegant about the underwear...

One can always go as Glenn Beck, Larry Craig, Mark Foley, Tim Haggard, Sarah Palin, Ann Coulter.
