It's a good idea to put "Inactive" under your avatar to let other members know you're not going to be logging in for a while. Otherwise, if they send you a PM or friend request during your absence, they're likely to think you're ignoring them because you hate them. And of course, this could result in their feelings being hurt. Butt you don't "have" to do it.

I wish I had sent him a PM on that. I was too wrapped up in my own sadness to think about it. Bad thing was he told me to PM him if I need to talk about it. I wish he'd have known he could have talked to me too.
 
Instead of getting him a puppy, he needs a big dog to sleep with, and protect him from his evil roommate.
