A priest? This is disgusting. Always hear about a priest molesting children, and now hiring to murder? What was wrong in the beginning...became even more wrong. Terrible!!
It gives me shivers to know that this sort of behaviour which, apparently, is condoned by the Catholic Church has been going on for such a very long time.
If anyone has ever seen the CBC two-part miniseries The Boys of St. Vincent (based upon an actual event which occurred at Mount Cashel Orphanage in Newfoundland), it was seriously intense and graphic for its time. No punches were pulled, but the sexual scenes weren't sensationalised. If anything, they were criminalised, and their impact was immediate and substantial. I still see the image of all the priests standing there with a kneeling boy hidden beneath each of their robes.
If you get a chance to see it, you won't come away from it unmoved.
Some things never change. This abuse is not a modern phenomenon, and for any Catholic official to deny its existence should also be charged with the abuse.
