Looks like they are ready for launch. I can wait.:D :D (!) (!)

OMG! I'm so excited... No Christmas for anyone this year cuz I'm getting a Wii.
Sorry kids... Santa got stuck in customs, but check this out!!

Well after seeing the price of PS3 here in Canada. I think I'm going to have to get a Wii now until Sony pulls there head out of there ass and releases that they can't sell a video game system for $659.99 Canadian....well at least not to me! ;)

9...

If you own Animal Crossing WW get online during the launch week for a special item from Nintendo, aparently related to Zelda TP. Who know what could it be. Hopefully its a Wii :D

The first US Wii commercial can be downloaded here. US Wii Ad

Better than the PS3 ads I've seen. Hopefully they'll put it out soon.

It's about time...a lil over a week to go and no marketing blitz...for TV anyway. Lots of print adds...and word of mouth.

Ashame it doesn't have any HD DVD / BluRay capabilities

If it had a blueRay format then it would have to add about $500 dollars to the price of the machine!!

I'm for one glad that nintendo has decided to keep it simple. I need a video game machine....not another computer or dvd player or can opener or moblie phone or glass elevator!

I was at our local Dominion Superstore tonight and held the Wii packageing in my hands...if its the same one, its really small...I was shocked. I flipped it over and over and asked if I could have one but alas they wouldn't let me haha. There was a huge sale, everything in the store was tax free and had some amazing deals on games and such...but only for 3 hours. 9PM to Midnight. I actually bought (Forgive me all) a PS2 with Final Fantasy 12. I know, I know...but its such a good game. But the PS2 was only 99 bucks so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get the game. But anyway...the Wii is so close...Cant wait.

Wow now really we are one week away from release. Gosh.. It feels like, forever. Specially when a bunch of gaming sites recently got free Wiis from Nintendo delivered directly to them! Joystiq, GoNintendo, IGN, 1up, and a bunch more.

Some more Wii info for you all:

- The photo channel supports JPGs of up to 8192×8192 resolution and QuickTime files of up to 848×480. It also supports mp3s to play during the photo channel slideshow for now. Who knows if a future update will have a standalone music channel.

- Excite Truck allows you use your own mp3s (read from the SD card inserted in the Wii) to play during gameplay. It seems that more games will use this custom soundtrack feature.

- Speaking about Excite Truck, it seems to actually be a good game thats gettin nice feedback. And its actually deeper than it might seem from the screens and vids.

- You may or may not know, but your Wii has parental controls.

- Your Wii can store up to 100 Miis in the Mii Plaza. Miis actually hold a profile that tracks down your personal records, message board messages, play time and pretty much everything you do on Wii. Miis can be used as playable characters in Wii games. For instance, you own Mii can be used to play in Wii Sports and also the other Miis in your Wii will stand around in the crowd.

- Each purchased Virtual Console game will show up in the wii Menu as a separate channel.

- NES games on the Virtual Console can use the Wiimote, the VC controllers or the GC controller. SNES and N64 games can use the VC or GC controllers. N64 games will not use rumble. The Virtual Console controller has no rumble feature and even if you use the Gamecube controller, it wont rumble either. Also, Virtual Console games are stuck to the Wii they are bought at. So no "distributing" allowed. If your Wii ever breaks or somethin, something can be done to get all ur games back without paying for them again though its not known what exactly just yet. Also, if you download a VC game and happen to erase it for some reason, you can download it again at no extra cost.

- Wiimotes use 2 AA batteries. Yup, you might wanna buy yourself some rechargeable batteries. Though really, it seems that they last for a quiet long time.

Can't beleive it's almost here. Checked a local 24 hour wal-mart today and they said they were doing a mid-night launch but they have very few consoles coming in. Tickets would be given to those in line. I'm getting there as early as possible. If that doesn't work I'll head to bestbuy and get in line if there is one.

The Wii is going to be so freakin awesome. I dont think I've ever been this excited about a console since way back with the N64 and Super Mario 64. To tide you guys over, the guys at gamespot did a special video event when the first ever Wii arrived at their office. To me, the funnest part was just watching them open up the box and figuring out how to get it all set up. If you guys wanna check it out, click here.

So I take it that buying it on fridaynight at midnight is the best time to get it at WalMart?
