Courting

Yeah, you are right. As G-Lexington said you end up at an impasse.

However we are able to talk well; today he even asked me to come with him to do one of our assignments. Unfortunately I had a class on so I couldn't (in hindsight I should have gone with him instead, as the class was a waste of time).

Of course I haven't tried pushing things in that direction yet... it would be so much easier if everyone wasn't always automatically assumed to be straight.

Now I just need some way to drop some hints without being too blatant. I'm certain that just jumping straight in will screw over any chance of friendship if he isn't, which obviously isn't ideal, even though this is the advice you've all given :-P.

What Lex said. But I found it pretty easy way back when by just the way he looked at me. We were very young but none of my high school buddies looked into my eyes the way he did. We hung out for 2 weeks before one evening back in our dorm room after dinner in the dining hall he spun me around and kissed me. Later he said he could tell by the way I looked into his eyes and smiled every time. I was still doing that and so was he 33 yrs later. Look hard, you usually can tell, but then again, like Lex said, just ask. I don't know, I never have seen what I saw in his eyes ever again.
