I hate Peter Thiel for co-founding it.

But I also hate PayPal as much for how insecure it seems. It is annoying that some sites won't accept anything but PP...but I am pissed that for the third time in the last 15 months, I have had to get my CC re-issued
because some scammer offshore has somehow managed to obtain the # and of course any algorithmic number cruncher could run through the authorization code in about a minute so fuck the CC issuer as well.

The crazy thing is that in the last 15 months, I have used it 4 times and 3 out of 4 transactions have been hacked somehow.

Anyone else have this issue?

In short, no. I've never used PayPal, nor have I ever tried to buy anything online only to find that PayPal was the only acceptable payment method.

I don't really use PayPal. But I've had a couple unauthorized debit card transactions. The last one involved a business from A Coruna, Spain. As much as I would like to go there, I haven't yet, and didn't order from them.

I have never had that type of problem with Paypal. I do have to get new cards all the time though from people pretending to be Amazon Prime.

Odd.

I've used Paypal for more than 20 years, over 700 transactions easily, and it has never resulted in my card being compromised.

The only times I've had those escapes was at gas stations with hacked pumps.

And I've specifically used Paypal because they back the member (me) and actually answer the phone as a bank would, here in the States. And I still use my Paypal account to send money to friends in Europe.

Isn’t the point of PayPal being the middle man that handles the CC and the supplier never sees your CC information? Are you sure that PayPal is the source of the issue?
Good question...I must remember to ask the CC rep about this.

I use PayPal regularly for my someotherwebsite subscriptions. So far my only issue was a posting error, that I caused myself.
PayPal responded so quickly to my request for help, it kinda shocked me!
