Crisis Of Capitalism

I enjoyed that. Thanks.

I have wanted to ask this question for a couple weeks but I don't know anybody who can answer it, and it kinda came up in that video. Here's the question.

Americans used to make stuff. There were all kinds of steel, aluminum, car plants. And people could make a living in those plants without going to college. But now we are making a lot less stuff and a lot of those plants are closed. We have lawyers and bankers and executives. So my question is, what exactly are we making - what are those lawyers and bankers doing?
And what are people like me who don't go to school suppose to do? Everyone can't go to college.

Wow...

What an incredible video...

As most of you know, my undergrad degree is in economics. I remember back when I was in college and starting the quarter where I was to learn about Marxism. I was very full of myself and thought it would be fun to play with the very liberal professor.

The professor challenged everything that I thought I believed in, and I learned more in that class than most of the rest of my college career.

Its a shame that us Americans are raised to look at Marxism and confuse it with then communist Russia.

Whether you agree with Marx, or not, his observations are proving to be correct.

I desperately wanted to hear the lectures solution. Sadly he couldn't provide one.

Thanks for the video Metta. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Many jobs involve nothing more than moving money around, or creating nonexistent money out of thin air and imagination. Nothing of value is actually produced in any of those types of jobs.

Actually, there are a few economists hat are predicting that exact thing is happening to the US at this very moment. This last financial mess that we are in, they think that when all is said and done, it will destroy the middle class and leave just poor and wealthy. Lets hope that does not happen. I think that Paul Krugman has some interesting things to to say.

It just doesn't make sense to me. It sounds like a shell game.

That is why I thought healthcare was so important.
