Cuba is running low on toilet paper

You know what's really funny?
We get our toilet paper from china and we don't give a damn that they have a clearly despicable government; but the second we talk about cuba, suddenly governments are important to us.
Toilet paper is kind of the "end of the line" (no pun intended) for recycling. From the original trees, cardboard and other large-fiber products are made; when it is recycled the next use is something lighter and the fibers become less and less significant. Magazines (glossy), copy paper, newspaper and at when the fiber is shit -- it is used to deal with it!
China was a huge buyer of our recycled materials until the economy tanked. A friend of mine is vice president of a large recycling company here in DC and they were rolling in paper -- the green kind. China was buying anything and everything. That has slowed and the markets' prices for recycled materials reflects that slowdown.
I do have to agree with the post above mine -- Cuba has been what it is for almost 50 years. We have dealt with the Soviet Union, China and are even back in Vietnam but on a different side. What are we doing ignoring Cuba other than the worries over how all those that imigrated to Florida will vote!

Well, let's just hope this leads to an increase in their strong moral fiber to find the strength that binds like large dropping logs of freedom before they are totally wiped and it all goes down the drain.

The problem was 2-ply, really. The general public was not absorbent enough to the information that was circling the bowl, and it took just the slightest tug for them to feel squarely ripped-off.
