I went over to a friend's house the other day and his Dad was telling me about this documentary about an oncologist who had found the cure for cancer over 20 years ago.

As if it were fate itself, the very next day, the documentary was added to Netflix and I watched it.

I honestly think you guys should watch it. His treatment has been shown to cure all aggressive forms of cancer, including brain, breast, prostate and testicular.

The documentary also shows the government's campaign against him for all those years, not because it didn't work, but to try to get him indicted on false charges and sent to prison. Why you ask? Perhaps it had something to do with the fact they tried to file patents on what he had already discovered and patented.

If it was found, why hasn't it already started being marketed? Perhaps it has something to do with the trillion-dollar cancer-treatment empire already in place by the pharmaceutical companies.

I can go on and on. Just watch it like now.

His website: http://www.burzynskimovie.com/
If you don't have Netflix, watch it at "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0ibsoqjPac" or below.

It seems more like his trials aren't done yet while he is trying to treat patients with them already:

All his research is done by him and only him, many others could not validate or copy his results. Apparently some Japanese researchers however had some success and are continuing a trial, too.

Please.

Enough already.

If this guy had the cure for all cancers, he'd be the king of the world.

Instead, he's running randomized trials in his play for pay clinic in Texas.

Trust me. He isn't being held back by the US government. The Canadian Government and about 160 other countries would gladly give this man a billion dollars each to find a cure for cancer that would save our publicly funded health care systems many, many billions every year.

We've lived through Laetrile and interferon and aspirin and a host of other 'cures' over the last decades.

The American Cancer Society has stated that there is no evidence that these products have any beneficial effects in cancer and have recommended that people do not buy these products.[8] A 2004 medical review described this treatment as a "disproven therapy".[9]

Sadly, this is a cruel lie. There is no simple cure for cancer. Cancer is a complex family of diseases. Some are curable, some treatable, some non-treatable.

There are evil individuals who prey on the hopes of the afflicted for a miracle cure. They are the modern day snake oil salesmen. Some do it for profit, some for fame, some because they are insane.

If there really was a cure, it couldn't be suppressed. Money always triumphs, and the riches to be gained with a cancer cure are uncountable. If this cure existed Steve Jobs would have happily paid the cost and would be here today.

Fortunately, most cancer victims ignore the Charlatans and take advantage of the best available treatments. Sadly some don't. Speaking of Steve jobs: His cancer was a neuroendocrine type, with a 97% cure rate with simple therapy. If he hadn't screwed around with mumbo-jumbo treatments he wouldn't be dead.

There's a special place in Hell for those who take advantage of the afflicted.

Sorry for the long rant. It's a sore subject. I'm a cancer survivor.

I know three older friends who went to Doctors like him They are dead. If you know anyone with cancer send them to a proper Doctor

All his research is done by him and only him, many others could not validate or copy his results. Apparently some Japanese researchers however had some success and are continuing a trial, too.

I wonder how many Japanese researchers are currently working on it.

No peer reviewed medical journal article discussing the results has to date been published.

Well, success is good. If no one else can really replicate this, then... blah. Back to square one.

How is wearing pink and giving to the ACS and other groups helping cure cancer?

The ACS is a huge money maker. If a cure was found -- that cash cow would be out of business.

Why couldn't the ACS thoroughly investigate his claims (his claims do not include cures for everyone)?

Current cancer programs pretty much extend the lives of people with a few cured.

Rocket fuel - that's the cure for cancer.
Also coffee enemas.
That's what I've heard.

ACS has investigated.

What the fuck is so hard for people to understand about this?

And that it isn't always just about the US?

Every Cancer organization and Ministry and Department of Health around the world watches and investigates this type of stuff.

It fucking slays me after decades that the conspiracy theorists are always thinking that the cure for cancer has already been found and is being suppressed. That cancer and death is some kind of industry run by non-profit organizations and drug companies as a scam. It says a lot about the level of trust that Americans have in their privatized health system.

I'd think though that the capitalists would be applauding the cancer industry though for creating employment and profiting from products and services.

A good point was raised about other organizations across the world jumping on ship; I hadn't thought of it like that.

Conspiracy theorists or not, if something makes sense, then it's possible it's true. We're talking about trillions of dollars here. If a cure for cancer was found by someone other than a huge pharmaceutical company, a cure they couldn't profit off of and would basically render all of their current treatments useless, thus causing them to lose a shitload of money, do you really think they would allow it or would they try to stop it? Common sense alone should answer that. Pharmaceutical companies don't exist solely in the United States.

Anyways, watch it and see what it offers before trying to discredit it.

No they don't. Yet the biggest market right after the US is Europe and even Germany in particular. The profit margin here is MUCH higher than almost anywhere because of public health care. Curing cancer would save the state billions, so their interest in any promising cure would be enormous.

It is simply absurd to think that all research in the entire world is controlled by big pharma. And doesn't even make sense.

Big pharma knows that a drug to cure cancer would make them rich. It already does. Whichever company gets the rights to the ultimate prize will make its shareholders rich beyond imagining. Because it isn't as though cancer would disappear....it just would get treated and cured. There will be more than enough cancer to be cured to keep big pharma in the black forever.

If this guy had the answer, he'd already be bought and paid for by Pfizer or Dupont.

If someone discovers something outside of the big pharma labs, it is bought up for production and distribution....not suppressed in some kind of world wide conspiracy of competing drug companies.

Cancer drugs, by the way, are not where the big companies make their biggest profits. In a number of cases, they are virtually loss leaders.

There is some bizarre notion out there that cancer is a simple 'bug' that just needs the right vaccine. It isn't.

Or that every cancer would just magically respond to one drug. It won't.

The basic fact is that the countries with socialized medicine have the most to gain by making sure that any promising research and treatment for cancer gets fully funded and developed. A system not burdened with costly cancer care could put the resources to other areas.

I have to shake my head at the naivete and wishful thinking that every time some sketchy clinician whose claims are based in bad science, immediately everyone thinks that they are the underdog.

False cures and therapies have parted more fools from more money over the years than anything else except gold mine stocks, swampland in Florida and the Brooklyn Bridge.

If wishes were horses, all beggars would ride.

Steve Jobs delayed seeking real medical help for an early detected pancreatic cancer because he preferred looney treatments. See also quackwatch.org. Where does this absurd cynicism come from? In a world where two people can't keep a secret we are supposed to believe that thousands are all in on these plots! Enough of your clownish stupidity!

They would not try to suppress it. They would offer the inventor a gigantic sum of money for the rights to it.

I've watched a friend get pumped with the toxic crap.

The nurse wore heavy rubber type gloves and was scared to death that she was going to get some of the chemo on herself.

My friend died.

There has to be something more -- filling people with poison is barbaric.

What you and your friend may not understand is that a lot of chemo is palliative....meant to make the end stage of the disease more bearable. This is a price that some people will gladly pay.

Look up palliative chemotherapy.

I know this because I know Cancer, how it originates, how it behaves, how it is treated and what the prognosis rates are for any type.

I am sorry that your friend died, but it was not being shot full of poisons that killed him. And it wasn't that they somehow failed to save his life.

Please just don't be naive enough to think that somewhere out there are magical beans that are being kept a deep dark secret by the illuminati.

I am always amazed at how little people really know about cancer given the information at our fingertips and how the innocent and the anti-intellectuals will grasp at any straw when there is the promise of a miracle.

Snake oil.

x20. Anytime you see these "documentaries" about miracle doctors with secret cures that mainstream medicine supposedly has a conspiracy against to make money--run away. My father's uncle was 73 when he died from a very rare blood cancer. He himself was a renowned medical doctor who had connections to respected research institutes and colleagues around the world. We watched him experiment with every latest drug and cancer treatment option that did not exist in medical books because it was all experimental or pretrial stage. He had doctor friends on boards of well known research companies that worked with him monthly, there was just no hope.

Why do people believe this stuff? Every time I see a magical cure for cancer I facepalm.

After my own parents died of cancer, our best friend was diagnosed with inoperable cancer a few years ago.

What was so frustrating was seeing her family's refusal to come to terms with the fact that there were no miracles for her either; some cancers are difficult to treat and arrest.

It was somehow as though she let them down by not wanting a cure badly enough...by not following every fad nutritional diet or alternative therapy that well meaning but butt fucking ignorant friends and family members offered. And their anger. Their anger that medicine couldn't save her. That a cure for cancer wasn't found the day after she was diagnosed. The anger with us for suggesting that they maximize the time they had left with her.

We lived with all of this for 8 months.

I was the one sitting there holding her hand when she finally died after doing all the heavy lifting that could be done to get herself better.

I say as one who has had a long good look through my own profession at the inside of cancer research, treatment and care that there is no better medicine than Hope and no worse medicine than false hope borne of ignorance about the bio chemistry and bio physics of this disease.
