Cure for cancer already exits

Just because a huge company hasn't purchased rights for it doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't work, but I definitely see the points being made, especially those by rareboy. It's definitely more complicated than a simple one-size-fits-all cure.

How would you all explain the number of people, some with less but others with extremely aggressive forms of cancer, who have been in remission after receiving his treatment?

How do you explain people feeling all better after using some balance wristband? How do you explain people getting cured from their gayness through prayer?

Placebo; denial. I wouldn't put incurable brain cancer remission in the same category.

I do agree with the double-blind experiment. It's interesting it hasn't already been done before. Now it doesn't sound believable at all [-X

Dr. Burzynski's probably not a quack. He's a licensed MD who used to be a professor of medicine at Baylor. He also has a degree in biochemistry, in addition to his medical degree. Neither of those things prove the efficacy of his therapy, however. I think more study needs to be done.

And I'm not so sure there is such a thing as "false" hope. There's just hope and no hope. I say that as a cancer survivor.

One reason that a lot of people believe this "conspiracy theory" is because it has reared its ugly head in many other forms in the past.

OK, let's imagine the scenario where, INDEED, a combined cure that is effective for 90-97% of all cancers, has been discovered. Big Pharma finds out about this cure, offers the researcher inconceivable wealth to buy the cure, the inventor gets the money, Big Pharma gets the patents, and Big Pharma promptly SHELVES the drug and never starts production. They realize that their chemotherapy poisons, and the millions of extended hospital and hospice stays, are FAR more profitable than somebody being able to spend $12,000 for the three injections and the 16-day supply of pills.

How is this really any different from these other SCAMS which have been for the benefit of the ultra-rich, and the multinational corporations which they run (or invest in)?...(EXAMPLES HERE)

This pertains to cancer, as well. It's been known for a very long time that CIGARETTES have carcinogens which particularly make lung cancer or emphysema quite likely to afflict a smoker at some point later in life. I actually remember a commercial, for Camel unfiltered cigarettes, which said "More doctors recommend Camel, than any other cigarette." (It's possible I have the wrong cigarette, but I don't think so.) Even better known was the "Winston tastes good - like a cigarette should." These companies weren't about to tell the public that using their product was putting millions of people at risk of early death.

Sometime in the 1930s, a consortium of General Motors, Standard Oil, and Firestone Tires formed a shell corporation, which approached cities and municipalities with an offer they couldn't refuse. They came and promised them that, if these cities would sell their transit systems to this new corporation, efficiency would improve as the transit systems are renewed to the current state-of-the-art, and the cities would no longer need to hire hordes of public employees to run them. Nearly all the cities agreed that the offer was wonderful, and they went for it. Instead of upgrading all the rails, streetcars and trains, etc. to the state-of-the-art, this new corporation (which now owned these systems) went in and tore them out. AFTER ALL, IT WAS FAR MORE PROFITABLE TO SELL MORE AND MORE CARS AND BUSES, GASOLINE, AND TIRES - than to have efficient mass transit systems in large metropolitan areas. Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Baltimore, St. Louis, etc. were among the places which sold their transit systems, only to entirely lose them. Boston, Chicago, New Orleans, and New York City were among the few that kept them (or perhaps they were just TOO big for this corporation to try to buy?). [I am not sure whether the cities knew WHO was behind this shell corporation, it was probably a well kept secret.] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streetcars_in_North_America#Purported_conspiracies

Another example, probably the CLOSEST to the same type of conspiracy which would "hush up" cancer-curing pharma, while making sure they are never produced: I NEED SOME LINKS, but all of my lifetime I've been hearing about people coming up with carburetors which will get 160 miles a gallon, or cars that run on water, cars that run on air, etc. I've heard more than once that the patent was bought up by the oil or car companies, and quietly put into the memory hole.

Why couldn't this kind of thing happen with cancer-curing pharma?

Just added it to my queue. I'll watch it this weekend.
