I wanted to take-in a movie this afternoon but can't seem to find one that interests me.

Maybe I should check some of our more esoteric eclectect theaters.

What'$ up with Hollywood?

Awards season starts in mid-late November through January
That's when most of the well acted/well written films are released.

Have you seen the movie, "Boyhood" yet? I thought it was one of the best movies out there. The movie was shot over 12 years. It stars Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette as the parents. Ellar Coltrane is filmed from 6 years old until he's 18 years old and off to college. Richard Linklater who wrote and directed the Before Sunrise trilogy of movies, wrote and directed this movie. His real life daughter plays Ellar Coltrane's older annoying sister in the movie.

I hope you like my suggestion and hope you enjoy this movie! Please let me know.

Another good movie if its still playing near you is, The 100-foot Journey. It stars Helen Mirren who owns a Michelin rated top restaurant in the south of France. A family from India ends up owning a restaurant across the street. She ends up taking the older son under her wing and she teaches him how to cook classic French Cuisine.

It was a great movie. I hope you like this suggestion as well and hope you enjoy this movie too!

My boyfriend and I finally have the time to go to the movies, but at the theater we really enjoy there is nothing we really want to see.

We recently saw "Unbroken" A good movie, but brutal and painful to watch.

I wasn't initially interested in this because Angelina Jolie directed, but now that I have been reading good things, might be something to check out.

Just realized Taken 3 is coming out soon. Didn't like the second one, but apparently this one is better.

Saw, "Into the Woods" Christmas Day, and it is well worth seeing in the theater with Big Screen, Dolby, etc. A magnificent cast, lead by the brilliant, handsome, hung, talented (he sings!) Chris Pine! Seriously, it is a literal rendition from the Sondheim Playbook, which I find a positive. It gains a lot from a sense of space and the varied sets afforede on the big screen.

I saw "The Imitation Game" today. It was a good movie that is worth seeing. Benedict Cumberbatch gave an outstanding performance, as Alan Turing.

Benedict Cumberbatch is actually the biggest draw to this movie for me.

Since I don't want to make another thread based on anticipating movies, I'd figured might as well use this one? I don't know when this one is coming to theaters because it only played at festivals. Premise is pretty original and the music is very reminiscent of 80's slasher stuff. The music is literally what really grabbed me about the movie, but it does look good.

Saw "Wild" last night. Excellent movie and performances by Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern, who played her mother.

New [REC] film looks like it might be fun. Even though it is deviating from the "found footage" style the first 3 films have done. First 2 were really good, 3 not so much and a bit more mindless.

New Ant-Man Trailer. Looks good, but doesn't really do anything for me to be excited, personally.

Chappie

Pretty much looks like Short Circuit and Robocop combined, looks good, though. Neil Blomkamp seems to have an obsession with robots/cyborgs, which I am totally fine with.
