Cut and HIV

I got a cut and it was open while I was on the bus... Is there anyway I can catch aids?

It would have to come into contact with body fluids of an affected person. It wouldn't occur to me on a bus.

Yes there is a way. Did anyone else on the bus have an open bleeding wound that dripped on your cut? Did anyone else on the bus have an orgasm and shoot jizz onto your open cut?

If not, you should be safe. HIV gets into your body through fluids like blood and cum. If you don't touch the fluids from anyone else's body, you should still be just as healthy as you were before you got on the bus.

Unless an HIV-positive person was attacked by a zombie on this bus, thus allowing for the blood to spurt out onto you and your cut, then no. You don't have HIV.

And to clarify, one does not get AIDS as soon as they are infected by HIV. One is diagnosed with AIDS when one's CD4+ T-cell count drops below 200 cells/microliter of blood, THEN said individual has AIDS.

HIV isn't spread through this kind of indirect contact. It's a sexually transmitted disease, so if you had sex with someone- in particular, anal sex- while you were on the bus, this would be a way to contract the virus. An open cut is not a method of catching the virus.

However, there's a lot of other stuff that can be contracted through open cuts and are infinitely more common in public places. Like staphylococcus, for example. You shouldn't be walking around with an uncovered open wound- clean it with soap and water, let it dry and then cover it with a bandage before you go out in public.

I have read of one case where a teen aged boy used his infected brothers razor, and became infected, presumably because each of them cut himself. I don't think the article said what the time interval was. And of course, infection through needle sharing and accidental pricks is known to occur. A far cry from picking it up from a bus however.
