They are doing this because the foreskin becomes too tight or other stuff and some also want a change. Is there such a trend in rather older gays in UK or only a few are doing this?

Hey, I am in the UK and uncut, I don't think I have any cut friends and I doubt any of them would want to be circumcised. If mine were too tight I would try other things first.

^ I'm not too sure, but I think there are quite a few methods of stretching and stuff than could make it looser if it were too tight.

I was circumcised as a child, but extremely loosely. I think they just cut off the ridged bands area only. I'm generally mistaken for being uncut, but other times...I look cut. It sure is fun having that extra skin. And yes my glans does stay on the moister side and is quite sensitive. You can clearly see my circ scar, however, and a lot of the times, it is what I need to show in order to prove to a friend or some other curious person that I am indeed cut. I certainly don't mind being nude either or am embarrassed to show it. In regards to preferences, I have none....either or...is fine with me.
