Very good point, excase33. As well, I did a search for Mateus Carrieri on imdb.com and you are indeed correct - he has been a prolific actor on Brazilian television for 30 years. Did you ever hear anything back from Zeromonie or any of the other mods? It would seem to fall on the side of ignorance if "celebrity" status on JUB is determined solely upon whether the mods have heard of the person or not. I for one have never heard of him before this thread, but clearly Mateus Carrieri is a celebrity in Brazil, and not recognizing that in regards to JUB forums seems to go against the whole notion of an equal worldwide community spirit that JUB has tried to nuture.

And if Zeromonie was implying that only worldwide celebrities, like Tom Cruise, can be referred to under the Celebrity thread, then that's all fine and dandy. However, I hardly think the names Heath Ledger and James Blunt carry that same cachet and can be considered even moderately well-known outside of North America and the UK. In fact, I bet in Brazil, more people have heard of Mateus Carrieri than they have of Ledger and Blunt combined;)

Yeah, I know. A lot of videos and pics you find online are more in the latter sense of the word though, unfortunately. Personally, I'm completely turned off by the idea of doing anything with my brother (perhaps to the point of revusion), but everyone's got different tastes, I suppose... =)
