Walking for me is now a challenge, not a constitutional.
I always thought when someone said they were taking their morning constitutional they meant taking a crapand honestly when I saw who posted the OP I thought that’s what the thread was going to be about.
It now has come to mean both, although the walk was the original meaning.
I really should probably get myself a fine dog that would encourage me to go for a ramble every day.

I sometimes think about training them to go for walks like we did with Buud & Rubee...but these two would be impossible to contain. I am sure they would love a retriever.I had not known the phrase had started to refer to excretion; I had always thought it meant a daily walk (and that the phrase was associated with old folks and used, by now, mostly with irony).
And what will Mizzy and Boo have to say about that?
Does this mean something different in the uk? I thought a daily constitutional was taking as shit!
same here. Haven't had my constitutional yet today.I always thought when someone said they were taking their morning constitutional they meant taking a crapand honestly when I saw who posted the OP I thought that’s what the thread was going to be about.
...and that sucks, doesn't it???Yes, I have been taking one or two walks 6 or 7 days a week for several months since I became diabetic to try to loose weight. It did work for awhile, but not so much now. I need to both diet and exercise.
