Damn Microsoft!

It's not enough that your OS has to suck ass, now the Updates you put out suck ass!

I just came back from a LAN party, and I found out that somehow an update automatically installed and now causes the machine to infinitely restart the computer, update # KB 937287 (Make sure you disable this update). Now I have to reinstall all of Microshart's updates and WinViscrap again and all of my games and everything ! :( If I didn't have 4 gigs of RAM and wasn't an Avid gamer I'd either switch back to WinXP or Linux!
it isn't Vista's fault, it is the faulty update.

Windows XP SP3 is no better then that update.

And I would laugh at you trying to use Linux.

I think you should backup your disk more often, therefore you don't have to reinstall all again every time it's got problem. I use Norton Ghost which can boost by CD and it helps me a lot.

I upgraded to Vista, had WoW crash so many times during raid, causing us to wipe a few times, that I was forced to downgrade back to XP. Talk about anachronism.

Easier solution. Get a mac.

Ohhh I'm sorry to say the same happens on Leopard. I never do their partial updates anymore I go for the combo update, it is much safer

I feel for you Puff as I have to reinstall XP and everything else today for a friend and I find it very boring work

I found it really strange using Vista. They said that it's friendly, easy, and convenient to use, but I'm used to working on XP. So I'm totally confused with Vista, and since there's a forest of bugs in Vista, I decided to stuck to XP until they fix all of them.
And for more reason, I'm using Acer Aspire 4920G notebook (it HAS a webcam). When I installed Vista, the Crystal Eye webcam didn't work ](*,). It said "can't find the webcam device" (something like that). I couldn't fix it, even download lasted driver from the web of Acer, or install driver in the Disc come with the Laptop. So Usefulness beats Beauty, haha :D

I don't know haha. Because solving it pushed me into stress so I reinstall XP. And the webcam works well. People say there will be window 7 (or something?). I hope this won't be Windows Nightmare part 2.

^My Crystal Eye Webcam works perfectly on my Acer Extensa 5420 which comes with Vista Home Basic. Nor have I had any problems with bugs, and a new OS does take time to get used to, not to mention it wasn't very much different than XP. Except for the start menu.

This is the best way to do it. Be sure to repair disk permissions first especially if you have previously installed anything from Adobe or Microsoft.
I've been using Mac for 20 years and the update screwed up for the first time (10.5.5) so I went for the combo. No problems after that.
