Dance Classics

Just played this all the way through! I forgot how FIERCE this song was. DAMNNNNNN!!!!! Thanks for posting it. Now I remember it clearly. I re-started it over 3 times and danced for 25 minutes!!!!!

Ahhhh - same here - I have been dancing to it since I posted it - I never get tired of it. I still dance pretty much every day as my exercise and because my body just wants to move when I hear good dance music.

A few of the DJs in a few clubs knew this was my favorite song and they would play it for me:luv2:

Where did you dance besides the Trocadero after '77? Were you ever in the I-Beam? That was MY club!! I danced there 5 nights a week from the minute the door opened (from the first WEEK it opened), and the other night (or two) at Alfies. I was one of the "core" dancers, especially from Timmy (Rivers) as he was like my "little brother" (God help anyone who said a bad word about him in front of me! LOL) and Viteretti. I'd get there (the I-Beam) on the first song and stay on the floor for - easily - 90 minutes. at Dreamland, too (unless Viteretti played something I could hear "coming in" and I didn't like it, and I'd stop cold and walk off the floor). I could hear the songs seguing in because I was musically trained to, so I could hear what was being mixed in before it arrived and he pulled the other song out. But Dreamland was fun. Too bad it had such a short lifespan.

I started going to the I Beam in the 80s mostly on Sunday afternoons and evenings - I danced on the stage usually - so many people on the main floor. I usually stayed for 4-5 hours and for awhile I would go to Dreamland afterward and be in line when they opened. Before they opened the doormen would go though the line of people waiting to get in and tap me and some other guys on the shoulder to come in early which was kinda embarrassing. I loved the big dance floor and on the upstairs area the comfortable couch they had.

I liked DJ Alec at the End Up but sometimes the club felt a little creepy - weird vibe. There was another DJ too there I liked but I forgot his name - he played this one gospel dance song that was maybe 20 minutes long and called it "church" - I knew the name of the choir once but could never find it and get a copy.

The song that reminds me of Dreamland -

I loved all the DJs at Dreamland

Stephanie Mills - Never Knew Love Like This Before

Stephanie Mills - The Medicine Song

TIP: How to find dance classics on Youtube.

If you dont remember who the singer was, enter 'song title' and the word 'remix'. The right song will often appear

(I did that with this song, otherwise, I might have gotten Hamlet)

To Be Or Not To Be - Jock Hattel Band
