So last season's "American Idol" contestant Danny Noriega posted his new song and video, "24/7", to Youtube the other day. It features his sister, rapper Diamonique, as well.

What do you think? I can't decide if it's a completely cheesy vanity project or is really nicely done in that cool gay chic kinda way. #-o I think I'm having a crisis deciding if it's fab-u-lous or a train wreck.

Help me out, boys. What's your take, good or bad?

I dont really like danny noriega for some reason but i actually really like the song but the video...hmm...not so much. there are some parts tho that i thought looked nice but i just find it too GAY! hahahaha. he has a nice voice btw. it sounds a lot more mature and masculine than when he was on idol.

I actually liked the song, and video.

I'm glad he's having fun and expressing who is and glad he's proud of who he is.

Looks like he had fun.

it's like anything else, we all have choices....

Good to see some thoughts on this.

...but i just find it too GAY! hahahaha. he has a nice voice btw. it sounds a lot more mature and masculine than when he was on idol.

I know what you mean, it's so extremely gay that it's one of the sheer gayest things I've seen this year! But like racer said, the fact that he's just expressing himself as he wants to is part of what makes it kinda charming. I mean, he changes up stereotypical gender roles (the makeup, the clothes) and it's like "Fuck it if you can't take it!". I just don't know if it's too over-the-top (or maybe that's part of his thing) - it's like if, say, a really great pastry chef made something that was completely excessive and used every pastry trick in the book and it was so incredibly rich that you couldn't have more than a few bites. Often restraint and knowing when to hold back is part of any artistic performance, whether music, dance, acting, painting, writing, etc.

I did like his range of performances on last year's "Idol" and thought he had a nice voice, but it's definitely still developing and he's finding that voice.

"So who's gonna buy my drinks? You, bitch!". :D

I must say it's a catchy song as well.....and yeah the video is a bit much...but really if you watch Logo at all you see all the gay rappers and dance acts...their videos aren't much better then this.

and I don't know if this threw anyone else off....but his really hairy pits really kinda distracted me....lol. For such an overly groomed boy, those bushes under his arms really caught me off guard...lol

I hadn't heard of Logo, and turns out it's not available where I am, but thanks for the tip, bostonboy, I headed to http://www.logoonline.com/ . :)

LOL on the pits. Yeah, they kind of stood out to me too. Not sure what the grooming decision deal was there, but he's doin' what he wants in terms of song and image, so more power to that I guess.

Train wreck in my opinion. "Who's gonna buy my drinks? You bitch". I think not! Completely foolish if you ask me.

I liked him back in American Idol, more quiet.. less attitude. But I like the songs, the lyrics are creative, IMO atleast to some degree.

What's TMTH?
