I used to have a selfie "date night" with myself every Wednesday night due to my class schedule on those days. My last class ended earlier (maybe around 2pm) and I would treat myself with a late lunch, some shopping, then maybe catching a matinee. I hung out with my friends on the weekends so I did enjoy some alone time on Wednesdays...

I think going out on 'dates' with myself is the only way I do it these days lol. I don't really do much but I like to walk. I just leave the house and wander around the place before I decide enough is enough and go home. I find those wanders to be really helpful if I've got a plot point I can't figure out or the creative energy is flat.

nah not here...second skin city doesn't allow for any solo dates...you will share here with many others in a public space like it or not. I assume that's what the thread is about. Where I lived before...yeah...all the time since there were more sheep than people there.

I spend most of my (non-work) time alone. I take myself out for coffee several times a week. On the weekends I usually go out for lunch and walk around downtown.

I don't take myself out, but I do have plenty of me time. A soak in the hot tub, short nap, hot shower with nice skin care and face care products, an espresso and I'm good as new!!

I go places by myself all the time because I don't know anyone else who wants to spend money on what I want to do. I usually go to plays or dance shows and sometimes movies, although I often go to movies with my cousin. Sometimes I travel by myself too. When I was younger, I went clubbing by myself, not really looking to pick up or be picked up. Sometimes it can be lonely by yourself, but it is better than sitting home alone and you can do whatever you want.

Eating in a better restaurant by yourself, especially at suppertime, can be a little weird though, but eating by yourself in a fast food place is okay.

We were going to go see Catching Fire yesterday, tried to catch the early show at before 6, but it was all sold out and so was the next showing. the one after 9 was still open but the only seats available were in the first row. no thanks, lol, came back to my place and watched Stardust instead. good movie too.

I do it when my husband's away, though I usually go out with friends. If I stay home I feel compelled to study and that's just no good.

So does anyone ever take themselves out on a date? I mean going out with the intention of loving yourself up, no one else is necessary, just enjoying yourself and making yourself happy.

I've been very ill for over a week and I needed a pick me up so tonight I got all dolled up and took myself out on "date". I got some In-N-Out then saw Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The film was fantastic and the food was heavenly, I enjoyed the time I spent going out on my own.

We desperately need these on the East Coast.

A good date night will be a good snuggle in my bed watching my fav tv series or reading a good book.

I used to do this during the day, sometimes if I felt I needed me time, I'd tell others I was too busy to do anything that day. Then head on down to the beach punch a few waves and finish up with fresh juice and a tasty lunch.

I rarely do stuff alone at night though. I prefer the comfort of staying in if i'm alone.

I'm not one for taking myself out at night - unless I'm in a big 24 hour city. Might do some shopping then.
Otherwise good chocolate and bad comedies for me.

Any alone time I have anymore is usually sitting quietly here, JUbbing and such.

It's rare enough that I can go on a date with just my wife - the girls almost always want to horn in.

That's not to say I don't enjoy some "me" time, it's just that I'm at work or running so much most of the time that the quiet times at home, surfing the web or watching the TV or reading are my special times.

Nine years later...



That was how I celebrated the last day of summer on Thursday, only a stone's throw from where the first pic was taken. I'm offering a free lunch, a retail therapy session and a theatre/concert visit to anyone who can tell me exactly where this is.
