I wasn't sure where else to post this. And I didn't want to put it in hot topics.

But, I have a date with a cop tonight (don't ask how we met lol). He's got 12 years on me, so that alone makes me kind of nervous. The oldest person I've dated besides him was 28 and he was more or less at the maturity level of a teenager. #-o

Anyways, I'm not sure what kind of questions I should and shouldn't ask. Advice? !oops!

Just forget that he is a cop and forget about the age difference. Just try to talk to him as you would have with any other guys you have dated in the past. I would refrain from asking him questions about his job, as that might start making him nervous (unless he is out, which would be rare for a cop.)

Is dating a cop different from dating anyone else?

Is there a warrant out for your arrest?

Just ask the usual getting-to-know-you stuff.....what are your interests? What kind of food, music, cars, sports, etc. do you like? Take an interest in what he says and ask interested follow up questions.

Are you and he on the same wavelength about where this is going? In other words both looking for LTR's or hookups? Are your goals for the evening the same?

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Surprisingly, he is out at his job.

It's been established that the goal isn't hooking up so that's good.
I just didn't want ask any wrong questions and look like an idiot.

Just be yourself and not nervous or uptight about being "right." He either asked you out (or agreed to go out) for a reason and that reason was who you were as he knew you. Be fun and genuine and you'll be fine. Can't wait to see how this goes.

Enjoy the evening and don't worry about those of us crocheting at home. You kids have fun and don't rush home to chat with us.

It went really well. Little bumpy at first but hey, that's like all first dates. I could tell he was more nervous than I was, so I was the one that kept the conversation going. We ate at some Indian restaurant near my house that I had never heard of. He paid for dinner, and I paid for coffee after.

All in all he seems like a genuinely good guy and we agreed to go on more dates. :gogirl:

Cops also a person. just act natural and be yourself you are off to a good start and a second date. lucky guy you are. keep us post any futher developement. Cheers.

Have fun. And return here with details. :D

On your next date, ask him if he's going to strip search you...for a concealed weapon

^ I'd insist on an anal cavity search.

I think it's cute that he was nervous
