Dateline: To catch a predator

Soapskank, you are aware that charges against the officers and MSNBC might be placed, mostly because entrapment is against the law.

To each his own I guess. Not necessarily the best peice of entertainment out there today, but there are many things said already that I agree on. I could careless about the show to be honest. It is all over the place on so many levels.

I read one of the transcripts on the website of the show.

The people pretending to be 14-year-old girls don't seem very right in the head either.

And they even have to go over a lot of the lines with notes about how evil the man is. The text should speak for itself, but because it doesn't, they stretch and stretch and paraphrase, trying to make your knee jerk.

Crappy show! Crappy means to a solution! The amount of bullshit and corruption behind the show actually makes me feel sorry for the people hoping to screw a teen.

I'd probably be charged with a crime if I beat the shit out of someone who molested one of my neices or nephews, too. Doesn't mean I'd be in the wrong for doing it, IMO.

Your right, but still, MSNBC should NOT be involved. In the entire aspect of these stings, it is the police jurisdiction. Hell, the FBI(or so I've been told) has an entire DIVISION dedicated to finding and stopping these guys.

Entrapment would be if the online decoy were to make first contact. In these TCAP stings, it’s the predators who initiates contact. The “minor” then simply runs with it. The predators were online looking for babies to have sex with.

How are you so sure? The runners of the site, for whatever personal reason, decided to put as many pedophiles in jail as they could, and they are in control of what you see on their site, so they can take out entire parts of the online conversation, or possible even edit them. And I'll bet the police don't mind, as long as the ped's get tossed in jail.

I think that Von Erck gets off on this in some perverted way. I can see him jerking off to this. Maybe its something he wants to do himself.
There are much better ways to go after people like this. But entrapment is not legal.
