Dear JustaGuy,
Very nice chapter. I'm glad Steve came over, and had a chance to truly SEE the love between Dave and Rawiri.
Was Sophie a cheerleader back in their old school? Or, was she too well endowed and would have suffered from a proneness to
tipping over?! lol
She is sweet, if a bit simple.
I like their address! But then, I've been a fan of the man since I was a kid - Did you ever see the musical
Man of La Mancha?" I love the title song - hence my tag line. I guess I've been tilting at windmills all of my life. It's an apt underlying background theme for Dave and Rawiri -- and it looks as though they may actually be able to make it come true for them.
The writing on the back of the photo is hauntingly prophetic. What presaged wisdom did his forefathers have? Long live the Ruru bird.
I've been reading bits and pieces about Maori culture here and there - it's been popping up in the most unlikely places.
On a totally unrelated front, I got to see your Prime Minister the other night - on David Letterman - he was doing the "Top 10 Reasons to visit New Zealand" list! It was during the session at the UN - a very high powered week in NY and Pittsburgh, indeed.
Take care, sir. We look forward to your next installment. Since it's the beginning of Part 4, and you started out with enough in your mind for about 40 chapters, does this mean we're approaching the end of this wonderful saga of love?
Don't tell me. The end will come when it comes, and we'll all shed a tear or two over it. It's been a lovely, LovING read. I'll miss it when it's done.
