It's been our great pleasure to read your musings. The least we can do is show our appreciation for all of your hard work by posting notes of thanks.
I've tried to get in and read as quickly after you posted an update as my schedule provided. Occasionally that may have been as I should have been getting my "beauty rest" HA! I'm way beyond THAT possibility.
Dave and Ra was/IS a beautiful love story. Oh that life could be as simple and straight forward, accepting. But, maybe it is getting there.
If I've intrigued your curiousity about Terry Pratchett, check him out at Amazon or similar. Discworld, The Wee Free Men (delightfully funny and bizzare), The Witches, and a host more. "Coo Beasties and "Ships" and the Nac MacFeagle.
The video Hogfather - as twisted a tale of the likes of "Father Christmas" as e'er you'll meet.
And, I don't mind you're using Arse in the least - it reminds us that this is an international fellowship. I try to insert my "u's" so my Yank isn't quite so pronounced, but I'm sure my word structure gives me a way, anyhow.

Don't cut yourself short. You have a true talent for writing and speed has nothing to do with the substance of which Dave Mate was made. The ability to put your thoughts into words has been the shining feature of this story. Living through Dave and Ra's relationship has been an extreme pleasure. Feeling the highs and the lows along with them is what has kept me so intrigued with your writing. I am happy for Ra that Steve has reestablished their friendship. It is a fitting end to this part of the story and I do hope that some day you will continue. Until then, please think about another as I am sure you have more ideas and thoughts running through you head. Thank you for sharing Dave Mate with us.

On a serious note, you know how I feel about your writing gifts. I'll be happy to read Part IV if/when the real world allows you to devote energies to it.

kia ora bud...can't calfornicate the mate word but don't feel guilty using the maori term
i swear i read a good portion of this fantastically well written and developed story some time ago.
but, i didn't recognize the 'justaguy' the other day elsewhere...senility and altzheimer, the molotov cocktail of senior citizenship lol.
keep going man and keep throwing in the kiwi/maori tidbits they make the writing just that much more real, oh, and i am going to keep an eye on you.

In the month since the last chapter I've written about half of the next chapter. Whether it will ever get finished is another story ....
JAG Mate...first and foremost...thank you! This has been a truly wondrous tale...one that I've enjoyed immensely! Dave Mate and Ra are truly two very special guys...and I thank you for sharing them with us.
Secondly...a big apology! I haven't found time to visit JUB on a regular basis of late, so I haven't commented on your chapters as they've been posted. It doesn't lessen my appreciation for what you've shared with us though.
