TV Guide Magazine: Could it be possible that the mainstream Days audience does not want to watch the gay storyline and where it might be going? ABC claimed that was the case when One Life to Live suddenly dropped the Kish romance.
Meng: It's probably not the story that most women are going to tune in for every day, the one they don't want to miss. I think it's a story everybody likes, but the women want to see romance. Our goal is to get back lapsed viewers — our family of viewers who stopped watching altogether or aren't watching us every day.

Fuck the mainstream...if they do drop this storyline,it's yet another case of cowardice.Should this be the dominant storyline forever?Of course not but it hardly is the only one...you have more than enough straight couples to give sizzling storylines to.But can't we have at least one gay storyline that isn't over in a flash?Gay people that live in among the townspeople,and are accepted not as just the gay tokens who are sent out of sight and out of mind?I swear if that's the case,it's another travesty in the pathetic attempt of daytime to be relevant but pull back when some bigoted bitches start whining.Fuck you....I don't want intolerant people viewing,if your point of view there is no place for gays on daytime.The closet is open...fucking get the memo or fucking watch something else that isn't so offensive to your prejudiced little senses!Sorry for the rant,but I'm tired of these producers who instead of just tinkering here and there with a promising overall direction as Days has moved towards they fuck around with the writing,cast and focus and screw up potentially what could be a very positive development.

The cast is behind the gay storyline,wholeheartedly...you're getting wonderful performances by everyone involved especially Chandler Massey as Will and Deirdre Evans as his grandma Marlena(what a sweet and dynamic chemistry they have together)!I really,really hope that corporate spinelessless facing bigot harpies doesn't win out.Remember the good Christian bitches(One Million Concerned Christian Busybodies or whatever they were called)who tried to bully JC Penney to remove Ellen DeGeneres as their celebrity spokesperson and how JC Penney stood its ground and basically the whole campaign blew up in the faces of the haters(who were really just a front for the awful American Family Association)?You can't let the bigots win,especially if you're on the right side of history.Don't let this amazing storyline go to waste....especially with all those bullied teens who are seen as less than full Americans simply because they are gay or lesbians.Let there be at least a few times where we can proud because a positive,sensitive depiction of the transition of confusion to embracing sexuality can commence without the need to backtrack in fear of offending the bigots.I wish I could be more articulate here in expressing myself but hearing this defensiveness by that producer really gnaws at me....this has been the standard response to posiitive gay storylines and if people can't deal with it now,when will they?When do we stop giving in to those who won't open their eyes or hearts?It's like an apology to them...and there is NOTHING to be sorry for in trying to move forward and positively regarding a gay person's self discovery and self acceptance.

One more thing...the actor that plays Sonny(Freddie Smith)who is also outstanding in this whole storyline was in another one on the new Beverly Hills 90210 sequel,which just as quickly was quietly disposed of.It's just appalling that time after time when there's an attempt to have a integration of gay characters in a storyline it's always pushed back.It was infuriating when Dynasty was on,that son Steven Carrington was in the closet,out of the closet,sexually neutered,in the closet again,out...time and time again,we progress then we are sent back to a closet not to be heard from again.ENOUGH!Obviously it's not life and death,being entertainment,in the grand scheme of things but it's the principle.Well it's time we push back...this far and NO further!I would like to find a way to help NBC know that there may be some bigots who may want the gays out of Salem,or at least only in the background and barely heard from...but there are others who love all the characters,love the romance but also love the dealing with real life issues,and having room for people like gay characters,who are interelated with characters we already love.I'm just so tired of others throwing us under the bus,for the sake of satisfying a "mainstream"that live in a world of judgement and intolerance.Again.sorry for the Samantha Brady moment,but come on already,NBC!

People are freaking out its getting dropped...it isnt folks!!

The new writing team was the old before the reboot and brought in Freddie Smith to play Sonny and told the guy who plays Will in Feb of 2011 they are making him gay.

Just dont plan on seeing it 5 times a day, that is all they are saying.

Thanks socal and my fellow Mets fan gtru!So often a gay storyline is introduced and pulled back and/or discarded because some fans get outraged,was afraid this could be yet the latest.Thankfully as you say it isn't,or certainly doesn't appear,to be the case here.Guess you can tell I'm a Samantha Brady fan,lol!Anyway,of course no one would expect the story to be the most dominant at all times,just hope it's blended in as wonderfully compelling as it's being played now.The best thing about these characters is how they are woven into families and relationships we've been familiar with for years...the Bradys,Hortons,and Kiriakis families have been among the more prominent ones for decades now,and it's not just out of the blue.Love so many of the cast but here's hoping that there will still be considerable growth for development in however they want to explore the relationship,between Will and Sonny.

Now do I think they will ever do a scene like they did with Chad and Mel today when Wilson hooks up for the 1st time..NO..Dam.! Would love to see Sonny with his hands all over a half naked will ..but..that might be pushing it ..unless they do additional scenes they put on the net.

Just an update...looks the gay story is back on the front burner. over the last month Will has come out to his mother and father. His buddy Sonny has been off air, he is the other gay character today he was back. They are planning on during the 1st part of July to being back an "old friend" of sonny on to the show, people are speculating that this might be kick in the ass that these two need to figure and come to terms with their growing feelings. I posted this today because Will got in a little trouble he was arrested for the murder of the Evil Stefano. However, today a friend of Will's ( the guy Will kissed way back when) well he provided an alibi for Will the night Stefano was killed they were having sex...LOL..for real they were at a gay bar when the murder happened. Will did not use the Alibi because his Grandfather is Roman, who is the captain of the police dept. Will also has become the student off EJ ( son of Stefano and also a suspect in his fathers murder) These two have great chemistry when they have scenes together, Ej urged Will to come clean, or else face jail time. Will went to confess he has an Alibi, by the time he arrives his friend has already spilled the beans and Will must come out to his Grandfather,Aunt, and x step father..that is gay..His Granddad has a hard time, but said he still loves his Grandson.
At the end Will goes to the local hangout and tells Sonny what happened..they embrace at the end..they have such good chemistry. Of course the press gets a hold of the story and Will is publicly "outed" in the final step of his coming out process. Tomorrow he finishes the process by coming out to the rest of his family members. Wish I had some clips. FYI Chandler Massey ( Will) is up for a daytime emmy this weekend and is odds on fav to win.

FYI, I wanted to slap the shit out of Will and the writers. You mean you would risk going to jail for murder (let alone being booked and then being bailed out while still under suspicion) just because you were afraid they were going to find you were at a gay bar on a date? Didn't it occur to him his cute ass would be passed around like a wet nap? It was just a dumb way for it to happen. Most sensible people would have said it from the start......no I was here at the time, i have witnesses, end of story. But that's the soaps for you. I also think Will gonna develop a crush on EJ before its all said and done.

Will and Ej just have a wacky relationship. I would be like turning the Titanic to get people the even believe EJ was Bi sexual let along gay. It';s more like they are brothers ..I think Ej Is creating a weapon of mass destruction that he will try use to destroy the Brady's with or that is how it started out. However, it cold be more like Sonny and Jason on General Hospital...where Jason was in that accident switched personalities and became Sonny became his metor? What do u think EJ and will lovers? EJ using will to destroy Brandy's or Sonny Jason story from GH be used here>

I dont think EJ will ever get to that point where anything happens with Will, I just said it as Will may develop a "man crush" on EJ since he always around him and he is a powerful man. I think EJ will always see Will as someone he can use to his advantage BUT also as Sammy's son and I doubt he would do anything to physcially harm him because he doesn't want Sammy to keep his kids from him. I think Will will wind up with Sonny but for the moment, it will be the guy he made out with and I think he may ask Will does he have feelings for Sonny and become jealous that he and Sonny spend time together.

Well they are going to have one of Sonny's "friends" come to town to shake things up for Will and Sonny. Next wek Lucas ans Sonny have a discussion about Will. Lucas will see that Sonny does in fact have feelings for his boy! Oh man I cant wait to see that first scene after Willson have sex and they in bed cuddling...LOL
