Republipukes preach about OTHERS taking responsibility, but duck and cover as soon as THEY have to take personal responsibility. Just as it has always been!

If this were a liberal Rush and Fox would demand the death penalty.

*throws up in mouth picturing Limbaugh doing the lick me limbo or the mammo momba with wives*

A "pro-family" republican doesn't support his own family. Yet he's honored for being "pro-family".

Even more proof that this so-called Family Research Council and their leader Tony Perkins is full of shit.

Perkins says: "I applaud their commitment to uphold the institutions of marriage and family". Just exactly how is he doing that when he's divorced and not supporting his kids?

If Boy Wonder were still president, Mr. Walsh would be receiving the Medal of Freedom. :=D:

After reading the chain of articles about the couple it appears they had a really bad divorce and are using the children to continue the fight.

If the guy owes money based on the court's findings he should pay or go to jail.

What surprises me is why the guy got elected -- surely his opponent in the election brought this up -- which leads me to think there is more to this that any of the articles bring up.

Not necessarily. Many House races are low keyed events as so many (80%) are "safe" seats for either party, and thus in-depth investigation into Congresscritters are almost nonexistent.

^ Observation will do. Many of the elections for Congress bring 70% and higher votes for the winners, I've seen it my entire lifetime (but it's gotten FAR worse since the mid or late 1980s). It is common wisdom that the main purpose for redistricting (contrary to the stated legal purpose of fairly apportioning votes by District) is to GUARANTEE the redistricting Party the most seats possible, along with conceding some seats to take care of the population who votes for the opposing Party. That's why some districts - more often the ones for the OPPOSING Party - often have utterly bizarre borders. There are districts in places like North Carolina (that I know of - probably really at least one such in at least 20 or more states) which may have an Interstate highway connecting its three distinct regions.

I've said it before...this would solve much of the Gerrymandering in one fell swoop: It should be illegal for a five-digit Zip code to be split among more than one Congressional District.

I agree observation is good but typically around here if you observe something another doesn't like or believe then they demand hard sources or it is patently false.

I understand gerrymandering. The district around St Louis looks like a letter C with a tail. We have done so since the beginning of this nation. What I don't know is since it has gone on for so long then how do you re-district so that is actually fair for the people?

The oddest part was this statement from the Family Research Council Action Committee's president:

“Congressman Walsh and other ‘True Blue Members’ have voted to repeal Obamacare, de-fund Planned Parenthood, end government funding for abortion within the health care law, uphold the Defense of Marriage Act, and continue support for school choice. I applaud their commitment to uphold the institutions of marriage and family.

This loser is pro-family by being against "Obamacare." That's right; offering healthcare to low income families is anti-family.

You just regionalize the electoral districts by zipcodes or a population 'grid' that is blind to where the identified supporters of any political party live. In short, you make sure that the representatives of any geographic area have to represent all the people in that area and not just those who sweep them into power.

One very effective way would also to be to get rid of about a third of the congress members and have fewer representatives have to represent more constituents.

Gerrymandering has effectively destroyed democracy in the US. I know that the Conservatives up here just itch some days to be able to do the same thing and guarantee themselves a perpetual majority.

The family research council regards the degree to which someone is a family man to be a proportional relationship to how much they hate gays.

The Family Research Council is considered a "hate group" according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. No news here.
