I think the thing distinct to America that is delivered to the world is Hollywood. The actors and actresses are like our royalty. Possibly sorts teams and music but definitely Hollywood.

SO getting some one some memorabilia would probably be distinctly American..

Hollywood sucks the talent from all over the world to feed itself. The first 40 years of Hollywood was controlled by 6 men— 5 of whom came from a small area on the Polish/German border.

Oh i didnt say it was the most ethical or the best anything. BUT I have been to amazing places in Europe with history that dwarfs America's short juvenile history and guess what they have posted up in various place? American movie memorabilia.

I have also been to some of the most amazingly poor places on earth where my driver and bodyguard cost me 20 dollars a week for 24 hour service. They had Hollywood as well. It is recognized as distinctly American.
