John Boehner: Where are the jobs?

I must repeat what Olbermann said on his show, where are the jobs John Boehner?

For as long as we can remember the GOP has been hammering democrats for everything. Now its time we hold the GOP accountable for this economy, AGAIN!

But let us not forget, there are new dim numbers on everything, and especially bad numbers for those without health care.

Not to mention, the rich/poor gap is the widest its been in decades, and we are still giving tax breaks to companies that ship jobs overseas.

Im glad the GOP's first priority is to destroy the Obama administration for trying to help the working class. And that they are intent on dismantling health care reform, credit card reform, student loan reform, preserving tax cuts for the rich, and basically gut punching the vulnerable. With friends like these, who needs Iran?

Reminds me of the interview of Rick Perry (governor of Texas) on the Daily Show. That was a really painful interview to watch. Because of Texas's changes in government regulation (those put in place to protect women and child workers), they apparently created hundreds of jobs in Texas... by taking them from California. Net gain for America, right?

And when confronted on how this is any different than letting companies create jobs in India, his only response was "Would you rather live in Texas or India?". India continues to sound better and better every minute.

Maybe the OP and the ethically challenged Mr. Olbermann might try waiting for the republicans to at least take their seats, prior to castigating them.

Then we can listen to them blame Obama for the mess the country is in.

LOL

thinking that they have not yet reported for duty

and are incapable of doing anything just yet

you will have plenty of time to shit on them

and i'm sure you will

but you've exposed yourself badly here

gonna be tough to take you seriously from here on in

Actually -- the OP poses a good question...

Our politicians promise SO MUCH during their campaigns without really having the ability to DELIVER...

This happens on BOTH SIDES...

So, yeah...

Why not???

WHERE ARE THEY???

:lol::lol::lol:

As a Canadian viewer, I have to say that it was one of the low moments in television. It was a painful reminder of just how shallow a conservative politician from Texas could be.

Perry looked and sounded like an utter idiot.

Hey. Fair is fair.

I think the point being made is that Obama hadn't even left the inaugural ball and all the conservatives and republicans were blaming him for unemployment and the recession.

Why wait to criticise the new congress regarding unemployment?

Republicans have already established that the new health care bill has destroyed the economy, and it doesn't even go into effect until 2014.

When will he become Speaker of the House? January?

I'll give him two weeks after he punches the time clock for his new job. That's how long the Obama haters gave the new President to solve Bush's mess.

Then we'll impeach Boehner if unemployment is still over 4%.

Where are the jobs?

That's easy -- they're overseas, where both parties have helped drive them.

Here's an idea: pick out a dozen unused military bases near major transportation routes. Let new or US-only companies move in for free if they create manufacturing jobs. If after three years they're expanding and keeping jobs in the country, give them title to the land they sit on.

Let's see now -- it's stimulating the free market and shrinking government, or at least shrinking what the federal government owns. Republicans should love it, right?

I like it BUT commnities wont buy into it. Everywhere i have seen the military close up shop, the local business base has been so built up and then diversified that the prime real estate is gobbled up quickly at top dollar...

What areas come to mind Kuli?

I haven't looked at a map of unused bases lately. My preference would be for places in need of an economic boost. Where land prices are high, auction the bloody bases -- in pieces, of course. Throw the money at the debt.

I'd repeat the process with 'stray' BLM land near towns.

I beg to differ. There are aspects of the bill that are taking effect already and driving insurance rates ever skywards. Besides, nobody in Congress has read the bill. What do they know?

atta boy ;)

remind me to not want you in my foxhole (no pun intended)

angry much?

you're the tea party guy you hate - mirror image

dems and repubs need to compromise to get the economy in better shape - diff ideas to do so - they need to cut costs the way a family does - only much larger scale - gotta be done

and they need to fix the bush tax cuts - forget that 250k thing - the bar is too low there

each side will need to give up something that is important to their core constituents

it can be done

let's see if this is the right group to do so

can you name a few? didnt think so. dont begin lies with republican talking points.

You missed the point of the thread. Unless you were just born yesterday, you would know the history of how unreasonably quickly the republicans expected change from Obama. Obviously political sarcasm is being used by Olbermann to make a valid point.

According to the info from my insurance company, verified by a US Senator, existing insurance outfits are required to make choices about what option they'll go with for structuring policies, and to adjust their premium structure by some target date that apparently depends on their choice. So yes, costs are already happening.

Then there's the cost of the armies of lawyers required to figure out what it all means so the insurance companies can figure out what option to pick.

I beg to differ. There are aspects of the bill that are taking effect already and driving insurance rates ever skywards.

Evidently, those aspects of the bill have been driving insurance rates ever skyward for 40 years now.

I know this is a thread about jobs and the political "ha, ha" game.

BUT

On Jan 1st the limits for insured individuals has no limits. NONE. While in utopia-ville that may sound wonderful.

Do you not think limitless coverage will cause insurance companies to raise rates so they can anticipate the bills they will be paying?

Everyone says 2014.... what the fuck ever. It is a staggered implementation and there are effects occurring this January. Believe it or not there ripley....

pfft

they have no ideas and they will still run on the same old gridlock obstructionist agenda.

If they can't own the damage they did during bush, why should they own the responsibility of governing now? its the house of reps and they wont get past the president OR the senate until they cooperate and republicans dont have thaqt in them.
